I recently re-subscribed to Eve and i've noticed that a lot of asteroid belts that I wander into are nearly empty. Admittedly, these belts are within empire space, but is that the trend all over the universe? |

Nope, if you check .5-.7 you should find alot of belts crammed with kernite/omber depending on where you are :)

Ore distribution has changed a lot, so you won't alway find omber in every 0.7 or lower type system.
Seems they thought it was a good idea to remove some resources from each section of space, and put them only in certain regional areas. I still don't quite understand this one, but hey.
You will often find omber in gallante space, pyrox in caldari, etc...

I'm trying the game again after 3 months or so away. The immense shortage of basic ore types in empire space is striking. I can't find anything that would sustain a mining op for more than a couple of days. What I do find is all veldspar.
It looks like respawning of ore is even more borked than what it used to be.

I think that the most important thing for finding good spots to mine is to go to a place that isn't very populated a reasonable number of jumps from Yulai. I'm in a system that has a ton of kernite. I could mine for days before running out. You just have to look a little.

It's CCP's way of getting us more than 6 jumps from the highway. If you go quite far out, or even find a string of stationless systems, the mining can go on for what seems forever...

When new players subscribes too this game, where do they go mine when noob space is all mined out by greedy big corps? I tried a 3 days free trail and was about too mine in 1.0 noob system, and what doo i see...... NO ROCKS... but "#&!load of cans with recruitment text that corps have dumped.... I think thats realy low for exp. players too act that way too new players in EVE universe. So i got mad and reactivated my old char
Ok im done, flame away

There are several systems, which are rich with decent ores, and almost untouched systems with kernite, pyroxeres and omber..Explore more ppl. Jaspet is seldom spotted other than in 0.4-sys or lower security.
However, I agree to some of the replies here about relative experienced mining-corps mining out 0.8-1.0 systems. I think it`s rather sad and selfish with huge security containers in 1.0 etc. New players in Eve-online needs relative safe zones while mining. Melubb I wub the smell of victory \o/ |

Haven't seen Jaspet, even when mining in 0.3, only Kernit, Omber, Placioglas, Scordite and Veldspar. --------------------------------------

Seen a fair bit of jaspet in 0.3 systems but only with omber etc, never kernite. I understand that since Castor some 'roid types are exclusive to certain regions (seen no kernite nor pyrox where i find jaspet inside empire space).
It may be, then, that if you've got kernite there's not "supposed" to be jaspet in that region?

Couldn't they give newbies permission to blast those containers into oblivion on one of their training missions. That might help.
