Edited by: Bager Gray on 30/10/2007 00:01:59 Edited by: Bager Gray on 30/10/2007 00:01:36 I find the apoc to be a decent ship for fleet battles due to the fact is is one of the more cap stable amar ships. It may not have the power of the abaddon or the gank potential of the geddon but is it worth investing in?

Why not.
Research it in empire over about 6 months. Burn some copies off. Sell it for a reasonable profit (couple of hundered million)

No one in BPO/BPC market is going to tell you the truth. Get out a calculator and do some market research and see for yourself.

I bought the Hyperion BPO when it first came out, made a fair whack of cash selling BPCs and ships but now it just sits unused in a corp hangar - I've tried selling it a couple of times now...It is not making any money these days.
So ask yourself - do you or your corp have the minerals to be regularly building Apocs for personal use or sale?
Can't you make do with BPCs and use the free capital to invest in higher margin ventures? As Skunk said you make a hundred mil a few months down the line, but surely you could make more with that same amount of cash doing something different.
If you've got shedloads of ISK - buy it...
- Ideas are my business...maybe thats why I'm always skint! Please read my ideas |

Frankly speaking, I would not invest in a apoc bpo. Why? explained below
First
The apoc is relatively useless. It gets a bonus to cap amount (meh) and a boost to the usual( :\ ) This means that the only thing it is good for is... well, running a missin tank. It can effectively run a good tank for any mission (almost), and is able to not do damage worth crap.
So, this ship is good at... tanking?? and active at that.
Unfortunately, passive recharge is generally useless in a pvp situation, where a cap booster is much more effective then putting on multitudes of cap upgrades. This makes the cap amount bonus slightly redundant, as you know everyone is going to fit cap boosters anyhow.
So, you are left with a ship that is fairly decent at tanking missions, and has totally useless bonuses for pvp. This means, that the only reason people will buy the apoc is because it is the only amarr bs on the market, someone is not willing to shell out the isk for an abaddon, or because they need it to build a Navy Apoc, witch really is not that much better. Some more cap/armor, and another low... might compete with the abaddon, but really does not.
So, short answer. No, dont.

get a raven bpo instead. even with the changes to torps it'll still be the i-win missions/npcing button.

It's not really worth buying the vast majority of tech 1 ship BPOs when you think of how cheap and widely available researched BPCs are.
