no scan exists. They do, however, still show up in local so you know they are there. I myself would prefer to have it the other way - you can scan for cloaked ships, but they don't show up in local. Would make ambushes so much more fun...

If you mean... like you saw it cloak right there in front of you... say at a gate, you can make it decloak if you get within 2000 meters of it.
So pretty much mwd to the last spot, and maybe you will get lucky. Need a jumpclone? Tired of jumping 30 jumps to hang out with friends? Try our new Jump Clone Service! |

Give drones the ability to be like the Photon Torpedo's in Star Trek, when they have to find the cloaked Bird of Prey.
Or you could just bump into them, that works too. ____________________

Hmm. My scanner seems to be indicating that this is some kind of "cloaked" attempt to drum up another anti-cloaking thread without being labelled a whiney little *****. |

You can see them in local and if you can get close to them they decloak.
Other than that, it wouldn't be much good as a cloaking device if they could just be detected at will.
Might want to ask questions about how to play the game in the newbie forum. You unknowingly touched a sensitive issue and in this forum that tends to cause flame wars.

I'd actually like if you could "see" cloaked ships visually.
As in, make all cloaked ships as they appear on the player screen after a jump. Just that phasey, shifty, see through thingy that you could still see with the bare eye.
Sure, easier to see a needle in a haystack, but still

I'm with you on that one.
But on the miniscule chance that it is genuine it should be moved to a more appropriate forum, like EVE New Citizens Q&A.

You cant detect cloaked ships because they are cloaked. Its that simple. you shouldnt be able to detect them by any means at all. I also feel that cloaked ships shouldnt appear in local either.

And that would be ok as soon as cloaked ships can target you and salvage your wreck....
