Anyone tried buying tags and using the data center mission folks to raise faction high enough to do R&D missions? I'm curious as to how much it really costs per status point gain to go this route rather then running hundreds of missions.

I am familiar with tags (I have gotten a very few running missions or killing pirates) but what are Data centers?

i get the feeling he has confused himself :P
i think he means DATACORES, which are the result of doing R&D with an agent
in reference to R&D missions, they are i think 90% courier missions
tags though, i think he mixing up LP rewards with RP on that one, as in tags are used as part of accepting certain faction bpc's which are normally a tertiary request LP/ISK & tags
RP = research points which is the amount of points accumulated from research in one field, it is gained on a daily basis and is influenced by the lvl of the R&D agent and the skill of which u trained to conduct that area of R&D ie. mechanical engineering skillbook adds a certain amount of RP/day to the total RP gained, lvl 4 R&D agent adds more RP/day followed by running missions (one mission per day normally) which doubles the RP/day per mission complete

Nope not confused.
Data Centers - the beacons in systems that have agents at them that have cosmos missions. I believe 1 or 2 of these per race.
Tags - I believe the cosmos missions all actually only require tags to be turned in to complete them? (This is my big questions)
If you do only need tags, how many would you need per status point?
I'm trying to find out the cost of essentially buying status gain by buying tags off the market and doing missions with the tags already in my hangar.
Anyone have any info on this?
