The temple is thick with incense as Lord Panther walks up the jewel encrusted stairs of the pulpit. The Director of the 1,000 member choir singing the praises of the creator notes his presence. After one more refrain the choir falls silent.
The holy monk adjusts his hood and begins to speak.
My brothers and sisters in the one true faith. Word has reached me that some of you are disturbed over the actions of Artico regarding the so called scientists of Crielere. You wonder why he took the scientists and then gave them back.
Do not trouble yourselves over these matters. Artico is acting in accordance with our holy scriptures.
Hasn't the creator given the Amarr dominion over the galaxy and dominion over the beasts of burden in that galaxy? Does this not include the Gallente, the Caldari and most especially the ungrateful Minmatar?
Of course he has. Artico had every right to take the scientists under his protection. No one can question this.
Do not forget the Cursed Alliance's public offer to purchase the scientists. While whatever advances they created may be minor to us, you must remember that the Cursed alliance is composed mostly of Minmatar terrorists ( a fact recognized by their own government which refuses to aid them). Many of the pilgrims spit at the mention of Cursed
These are people whose art has only recently been elevated from cave drawings. To them these minor advances would have been great leaps forward. The terrorists would have used this research to inflict damage on those who walk the one true faith.
Artico generously used a large part of his fortune to ransom these unfortunate creatures from the pirates who took them captive. Is that not the act of a good man who walks in the way of the creator? The crowd mumurs its agreement
All this was made necessary by the cowardly Gallente and Caldari refusal to protect these men. Even a child knows he must keep his pets from the wolves. Apparently no one told that to the Gallente or Caldari. The pilgrims laugh
Artico wisely acted to keep the Cursed ones from getting their filfthy hands on the scientists.
Of course the Gallente huffed and puffed and demanded their release. Artico saw the Gallente whining for what it was. It is the same as a dog whining for water. Just as you would take pity on a thirsty dog, Artico took pity on the Gallente and released the scientists to them.
They were like a child who abandons a toy. He will not play with it until someone else picks it up. Then he wants the toy back.
Artico did not release the men in return for concessions. He released them in return for Gallente assurances that they would protect the researchers in the future. And he did it only after seeing to it that they were treated for any injuries inflicted on them when the Gallente and Caldari governments ignored their cries for help.
No one should imagine that he released them due to Gallente pressure. Their Navy could not even face the pirate rabble that attacked their research station let alone the Kor-Azor fleet joined by the Imperial Navy. Perhaps the Gallente in gratitude for the service Artico performed for them did give some concessions. Certainly given their ineptitude in defending the scientists it would be only natural that Artico would want bases in Gallente space to be sure their researchers are properly protected from Curse and other terrorists.
One can not blame him for not wanting to spend a fortune a second time to keep the scientists out of the hands of Minmatar terrorists. He would obviously prefer to use his funds to build schools, great temples and to feed the poor.
Protecting the holy people from these insane terrorists is a god given duty for all the heirs and for Emperor Doriam (praised be his name) The pilgrims bow towards Amarr at the mention of holy one's name
And so once again we see that by living the word of the creator, Amarr grows strong in his grace. The Gallente and Caldari have no faith and they are disgraced in this affair.
The wise Amarr as represented by Artico have done their duty to the galaxy in keeping whatever secrets these men hold from falling into evil hands.
Artico has done the galaxy a great service. He acted first to protect our holy people and then with the same mercy we show to any animal. Is this not in keeping with the scriptures giving us not just dominion but the duty to care for all the beasts of the galaxy? Of course it is.
All praise to Emperor Doriam, blessed be his name, and to all who walk the true path.
The music swells as the crowd of pilgrims dances with joy over the revealed truth. His duty done, Lord Panther leaves the temple and goes back to his ship.

Edited by: Darius Shakor on 28/02/2004 11:40:03 It seems that Artico's actions have disproven your sermon before it even began. If he really felt that it was his "devine duty" to take the scientist, why then has he chosen to give them back to the gallente?
Your religion seems to contantly feel it has the right to rob people of their freedom to go where they want and live how they want through slavery. How free do you live? Nothing but hypocricy, and every word you say in your defense will only convince me all the more. ------

For Gaius, it's the post that counts, not the content. You must have noticed that by now.

Like flies to the candy.
This is my first time ever using such a defence, but I picked it up from Wren (Shut up and go away), and thought I'd give it a shot.
I don't think I'll do it again.
It suits Wren better ;) ----------------------------------------------

Do not presume to call me a peon nor tell me to shut up. I am not one of your slaves who you can order around nor do I recognise the so called superiority of the Amarr people. I have the right to assess your religion by what ever takes my fancy and to speak out about it as I please.
The only defense to my comments you could muster was a simple demand that wreaks or denial because you know my words are the truth.
I again remain firm in my beliefs that the amarr religion, like all religions, serves only to oppress other people and protect only your interests. Do not even feed me that line about it being your duty to bring enlightenment to others and saying that people are better off as slaves serving you. You will never convince me of this as, unlike your kind, I do not let fairy tails govern my actions blindly nor swallow every line that is fed to me by a man standing on a podium with a silly hood over his eyes without first applying my own mental proceses to determine if there is truth in those words. ------

We can not expect the inferiors especially the Minmatar to understand. However, as due to a divine revelation I made clear
"Just as you would take pity on a thirsty dog, Artico took pity on the Gallente and released the scientists to them.
They were like a child who abandons a toy. He will not play with it until someone else picks it up. Then he wants the toy back.

I know that literacy is not a Minmatar strong point and the concept of reading hurts that pea you call a brain, however you should try to read the whole thing before you comment even if it does take your kind several weeks to do so.

Though not all of them are so highly evolved in the base art of arrogance, the misguided pride of the Amarr truly knows no boundaries. To believe that God only reveals itself to you, granting only your kind with a unique manifest destiny over others is utter folly. Surely there will come a day that you will realize that the only God you now serve is the dark God of your own greed and conceit. You are young and blind, when you think to be old and wise.
My mentor's last teaching was that to transcend one's own limits, there would come a day when you would have to kill your past, kill your teacher and even kill yourself.
Perhaps killing your Emperor would be a service to you. Alas, that is not the right, straight way. This task is left to yourself to fulfill.

Excuse me if I missed that bit. Maybe it was when I fell asleep. If you want people to be interestd in your religion try and make it less boring. ------

You are forgiven. The universal truths revealed by god to his chosen people are well beyond your understanding. Of course you would find them boring.
Just as you Minmatar find killing destruction of all that is beautiful and good and hatred to be exciting, those of the the true faith find the revealed word of god to be exciting.
The pilgrims at the temple are still dancing with joy over these revelations which proved again the superiority of the Amarr to the lesser races.
