hey noob here been playing for almost 2 weeks now at the reccomendation of a couple of friends grt game, anyhoo my problem.
I didnt check which race corporation etc my friends were in before starting and now i have trained quite alot in my short time i do not fancy starting again so is it possible to effectivelt defect to another race. I joined the state war caldari and my friends are in the federation gallente so find myself hurtling back and forth between oursuleart and perimeter alot for gang missions etc please please tell me there is an easy way for me to be based in ours; and continue with the storyline etc. i have been running missions in ours; but want to be hq there as gallente

you can train the skill ethnic relations to allow people of not the same race as you in your corp.

Best bet is to form a corporation with your m8's and train the above skill mentioned.

so what your telling me is that after running about 40 missions for federal navy to get standings up and 14 days of training to get to roughly where i want to be now to try and be invited into the federation navy its never going to happen and the best course of action would be to start again now with a new character. well that sucks people defect all the time between nations. oh well ty anyway.

you can make your own corp with your friends, but no, you can't pick and choose which NPC corp you want to join

If you're intaki you can very well side with the State according to prime fiction, there's no widely known caldari remnants within the Federation though, that would make sense though since that's where they came from but sure, write up in the bio that you're a citizen of the Federation.

you and your friends should either start your own corp, or all join another. no biggie, no reason to start over.

The corp you are in at the beginning of the game is based on the character race and school you went to, so a Caldari character can never be in a Gallente NPC corp.
The 2 options you have are to 1.) Start new character to be the same as your friends or 2.)Create a player corp for you and your friends to join. Option 2 has a few more drawbacks such as other players ability to war dec your corp, but does allow you to get more in the game such as POS and such.

Caldari's a fine race. Get your buds and form your own corp. Its pretty easy, and with some wits, you can try and move out to lowsec and make your fortune.

you evidently don't get the whole "race" thing. caldari and gallente hate each other; at no time, and under no circumstance can you even be friends with them. they are filth and must be purged. see, they're different "races" and you know that the word that goes with "race" is "war".

Only reason to re-roll is if you have totally shafted your attributes / or given yourself a really stupid name. Anything else you can get over, maybe even learn to love.

Firstly, people who play the game for the story turn out poor.
Secondly, ignoring the story, there are only three things that matter about race: How cool you look, how low you can get your charisma, and what your ship looks like when you need a shuttle but don't want to pay for one.
I would keep your character and go fly with your friends. If they're seriously going to form a corp, their boss can just get race relations. Then it doesn't matter.
There is almost nothing that doing missions can do that doing other stuff can't get you. All the faction stuff worth buying can be bought. As well of the stuff that isn't worth buying (like the Gallente Navy Comet...).
