Edited by: Zoo Chung on 31/10/2007 22:18:05 Battleships are able to fit polycarbon engine housings in conjuction with a microwarpdrive to accelerate them fast enough to bump ships out of positions.
The CCP definition of these ships are "battleships" not "bumper cars" therefore all uses of battleships to bump other ships are therefore exploits of CCP's intended game mechanics and this should be remedied by preventing polycarbons and microwarp drives from being fit on Battleships.
I reiterate Battleships != Bumper Cars

any ship can be used to bump to some extent. You should see that a fully tech2 fitted intercepter can do to small ships.

Battleships are obviously overpowered. This is not a role they were ever designed to fill.
I suggest a two part solution:
-Battleships will no longer be able to fit rigs -Battleships will be limited to two high slots alone, but can assign their other high slots to gangmates to unleash their destruction.
As such, the battleship will no longer be a solopwnmobile.

All these X!=Y thread are not funny a bit, but bumping should be looked at. Adding collision damage would be disastrous, just doing a simple conservation of momentum and a elastic collision and recalculating vectors would be quite enough to solve bumping once and for all.

The obvious solution is to not allow battleships to move *at all* except by getting bumped from specialist bumping ships, it is incorrect and difficult to balance a ship which can move, tank and do damage all at the same time... :D

I fully support this idea. I once got killed in my frig by the solo BS. Nerf the buggers. No more solopwnmobiles!!!
PS: I would nuke CCP if it wasn't that I felt sorry for the nuke. They really need to start playing their own game (not just cheating at it).

I support this idea as well! I mean, my frigate got destroyed in like 2 hits from a battleship, I mean seriously CCP, battleships are too overpowered. they can have 6+ hardpoints AND a full set of medium drones, I mean wtf, they should be forced to delegate their drones because imho, they are too overpowered.
