My corpmate needs a GTC but either doesn't have a credit card or can buy gamecards in his country.
But I can. So I offered to buy the GTC for him and he transfer the ISK's worth to me.
But since we didn't know how ISK buying and selling detection works in EVE we were worried if we would be falsely accused of ISK buying/selling when he transfers 400mil to me.
So would we?

As long as neither of you buy isk or do anything in violation of isk buying/selling rules you should be fine.
In future, ensure that you go via the secure method of GTC selling. Signature inappropriate for Teen rated forum. Mail us at [email protected] if you require further information - Valorem |

I'm pretty sure thats ok. Its just a GTC trade without using the secure method. Which I guess is fine as you are mates and there wouldn't be any scamming going on.
Don't quote me on that though.

You seem to have written your question as a hypothetical one.
And since you did.. Well, it doesnt take more than 15 minutes to read up on the rules about GTC secure trading.
And it that case if you get any trouble, you brought it on yourself.
Dont think you need to worry though.

Why cant he just buy a GTC from the forums with isk?

Edited by: Laah T''Sin on 01/11/2007 16:33:00 It's legal as long as you buy the GTC with RL-cash and then transfer the GTC to his account by means of the (legal) secure method.
Whats not allowed is for you to buy GTC with ISK and then sell it to him for RL-cash. This can't be done by secure method and is thus an EULA violation.
Cheers
PS. I'm not sure if it's legal for you to buy the GTC with RL-cash and then sell it to him for RL-cash. I guess this is legal (since it's none of CCPs business who you sell your GTCs to) but the problem is that there is no trusted means of transfering the GTC to him without running the risk that he uses the code and doesn't pay up.
Best bet is for oyu to buy GTC with RL-cash and then sell it to him like you would any other GTC. |
