Edited by: Tned Durand on 01/11/2007 16:20:45 Yes you heard it, yes it's true, EVEFront is pleased to bring you individual, RSS-style newsreader feeds for every member pilot and system in EVE!
EVEFront provides members with a journal, which is readable and writable in and out of game. First, we added a feed to all player journals so you can publish your own feed and track the journals of other pilots in a news aggregator such as Google Reader.
But we didn't stop there. We also created an EVEFront system feed for every system in EVE so you can stay abreast of local news about the systems you love the most. The feed consolidates all recent journal entries by pilots from or about that system, any scheduled public events of player corporations starting in that system, and the latest system report from the EVEFront All Pilots guide.
By selecting the feeds of the pilots and systems you want to follow, you can use an aggregator to combine the feeds into your own personal EVE news service.
EVEFront is in beta so we ask your patience as our membership ramps up and content comes online. Feeds to some early content:
- Tned Durand's General EVEFront Jounal
- Threv Echandari's Reporting From the Northwest
- Madirmilire System Feed
We hope you enjoy the feeds. Feel free to pass them around to as many people as you want. If you want to join the other pilots and corps already on board in the fun of creating your own feed and the system reports and events that systems feeds are also based on, evemail Tned Durand in game for an invitation to EVEFront or respond here.
Our best to all and Happy Fanfest!

By the way, anyone who would like to use the journals to provide updates and player perspectives from FanFest, please feel free to do so. Include 'FanFest' in the subject line of your evemail or email requesting an invitation code and we'll get you hooked up ASAP and give you some linkage. Inquiring minds want to know what's going on up there!

Evefront.com is made of Pure Win and Cool Stuff! Tned Durand and his crew have done an awesome job and continue to do so. Technical problems have been few and resolved quickly. Though I have to say it might not seem like much at first (limited content) it one of those things that when it reaches a critical mass it will probably one of those tools that you dont want to live without like Evemon.
BTW thanks for mentioning my Journal it is not what I would call "Cool Stuff" but if you like what I write thanks! IMHO It easier to do RP'y stuff in the Journal than say trying to deal with some of the Role-players in the Channels or the RP Forums. (RP issues were covered in other threads so I won't dwell on it in what is a Positive forum post)
It's almost like a Hitchhiker's Guide to Galaxy where we get to write about the Galaxy. Needless to say the Tool could also be supremely useful for Corps and their needs. If you have not checked it out Run don't walk to Evefront.com

I have one question regarding the registration form, apparantly one have to agree to: "That we may change or amend these terms and conditions in the future."
Will users be informed of any new terms? It doesnt say.
I recently gave up on an internet forum because of an update to its "terms of service" and told the admin to delete my account and shove it, resulting in a lifelong ban

Edit: changed smileyface
Yes, we would either put the notice on the login form, or the first page after login with a link to the updated version and would make mention of any such significant change in Tned Durand's journal.

If you ever actually played EVE Online instead of EVE: Forum Edition, you would see that you have had an invitation card awaiting you in your evemail inbox for about a week, Pinkman. We challenge you to a journal and we'll even put in a special Tarminic feature that allows journals to easily link to a forum post, or several as the case may be, if you join.
Actually, that would be kind of scary to have a Tarminic feed in your newsreader. If our news feed system weren't massively scalable, I'd have to check with the techs on whether or not your journal of forum post commentary would bring down EVEFront Feeds.

We get asked about RP and journals every once in awhile so I'll make a note here that we encourage both RP and non-RP journals. We try to keep the Tned Durand journal quasi-RP so it does not break the immersion for our RP member pilots to read it, but that's just because we have to balance the needs of all members. Our only request for journal content is that it be EVE related, otherwise you can write anything from what equates to fan fiction to tips for better game client performance and we fully welcome any satirical Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy type stuff.

I am a current user of this. It is nice, and easy to use. Something like this, which over all helps the game should be a sticky so it does not sink to the bottom of the forum.
To any GM's out there, you all really should give this thing a go if you have not already.
