I've decided to train my alt up for command ships, but which one would be best for Semi-afk work? I plan to use him for both PvE and PvP.
In PvE, he'll be a dedicated tank, as likely as not with salvagers and links fit. I imagine all can fill this role equally well.
However, which would be best in PvP? Perhaps a Damnation, for the armor resist link bonus? Damage is a non-issue, as I will probably have him at a safespot.
Thoughts? -----

For PVE and semi-afk work I'd say the nighthawk, I've done about every level 4 mission with a Nighthawk with a passive tank and barely ever flown out of one, maybe 1 or 2 times. |

And your reason for using a nighthawk over any fleet command ship, as a dedicated tank? -----

its basicly the drake mark 2 making its tank very good.

Seems to me the Vulture could fit a better tank, and at the same time run 3 gang links. -----

For your purposes PVE a Vulture. If you need a dedicated afk tank it will be your best bet. A damnation has a mighty fine tank, but you still need to rep it.
For PVP a Damnation might be better if you mainly have a gang of armor tankers. Though the Minmatar iteration is also pretty snazzy because skirmish warfare links are awesome. Though if you happen to fly an ECM gang, then an EOS would be your best bet.

If you are willing to activ tank the damnation can have some crazy perma-tank. tripple med armor rep t2 perma-running with good resists offers pretty much the best non-captial non-faction tank.
