How many shield hit points do you have to regenerate per second to make a passive set up work for level 4 missions? I am just wondering if there is some kind of ballpark figure to shoot for when setting a ship up.
A related question I have is can you passive tank a raven for level 4's or is it just not worth it?

A T2 X-L Shield Booster gives aprox 120 shields per sec. So I would say that anything over that would be suficiant. And as to passive tanking a Raven...not worth loosing the BCU's for it.

Passive tanking a raven won't work. It's shield recharge time is too high and you're just wasting it's 6K+ capacitor.
As for passive tanking a ship, somewhere in the region of at least 100 dps at peak with decent (70+) resists should be all right for most missions, although you'll may have to warp out on the harder missions if your damage output isn't too good.

I can tank almost 1700dps with my Maelstrom T2 fit, and a few missions are borderline. Most, though, are easy. Was playing with a Drake earlier today, and found it tops out around 1000dps tankable for thermal and kinetic (more vs angels, less vs sansha, of course). So, I imagine you'd have to learn your limitations.
A Raven, however, does not make for a good passive tank. No resist bonus, poor recharge time.

Recharge rate really doesnt matter, unless taking resistances into account.
100 recharge(per sec) with 99% resistance is way better than 500 recharge at 90%.

And I've heard that 600 DPS is about the most you'll ever take in an L4. Most never reach 400 DPS.

Must be my bad habit of drawing full aggro in every room.

if ur got resist around 75-85% you can passive tank all lvl 4`s in a drake with 1207s recharge,,,as long as u play it smart (like picking the right targets, not aggroing everything and so on)
