I've never really felt the need to address CCP with a post directly before but here we go.
There has been a number of changes to various ships/classes over the last month or two, many of which have caused outbursts of drama and general frothing at the mouth (and brain). Often we hear about these changes through other players that have literally stumbled across them on the test server - often causing the aforementioned drama.
Part of the problem with this is we (as players) don't know if it's an actual planned change or just something your toying with as well as having no clear idea what your reasoning and intentions are.
Something that could help would be a simple locked sticky at the top of the ships and modules section with regularly updated information such as:
- What aspect of the game you are currently looking at - What you're not happy with and what you want to achieve with the changes - What possible changes you are thinking of implementing (and possibly why those specific changes and not others) - What current changes are on SISI and if they are just experimental or something more - Questions/requests for specific feedback from players regarding a particular issue/entity currently being changed.
I'm not trying to imply that CCP needs player approval to make changes with the game, far from it infact. However CCP has said that the playerbase can be a useful source of feedback on the game, so give us some richer information on changes to give feedback on (not just what's being changed but why).
I'm not asking for regular devblogs here and I understand you are probably busy enough but providing richer and clear information on changes and aims gives the players more to work with when providing feedback/alternative suggestions with less speculation and drama - ok I may be a little optimistic there.

I can only assume from the current list of suggested changes, ie carrier and damp nerfs, that the people that are championing these proposed changes eithe 1) do not play eve or 2) could not be farked actually thinking about what needs balancing but rather just read the forums and nerf whatever is being cried about the loudest this particular month.
Congratulations CCP, e-war is no longer a viable tactic in small scale pvp.
The only viable options now are nanogheyness and gankatanking.
I personally am going to be doing the nanogheyness thing.

Problem is ccp has no real treat to is member base currently. They are the pushers and we are the addicts. Till there is a new pusher for the addicts to go to ccp doesnt seem to feel the need to share or care about anything we want.

But... *FREIGHTERS* WTF?!
I *SO* wanted to make the game my full time job to fuel a single pos out in 0.0.
It's funny, because I think CCP has lost site of the fact that this is a game. People do not play this game to have a second or third job.
Forcing 0.0 logistics to be a second or third job (and FFS, requiring a jump freighter [which will undoubtedly get nerfed, but will cost 6+ BIL and be generally unavailable for the first couple of months] to do any sort of realistic logistics in 0.0 is freaking stupid).

i like fun ships. most players like flying fun ships. making those ships not fun anymore sucks for the players.
try this CCP, when you think there is an imballanced ship in the game, dont make it less fun to fly, but boost the other ships making them equally fun.
/me points to the sabre change on sisi atm as refference.
it is my opinion that ccp will not be satisfied untill we are all running around in ships that have a maximum speed of 10km/s and cannot hit over 2km firing only 1 gun each with no drones and a tank that could withstand a supernova while being permajammed by a frig.

That's what I've been trying to say. Even if boosting one ship means an indirect nerf for others, it's not perceived the same way.

I agree with the op that it would be very benficial to have something of that sort.
As for the changes themselves, I'm taking a wait and see approach, but I think that in the end all of the changes (maybe not the dictor nerf) will be for the better and I'm fairly confident that CCP will be quick to see if the changes they implement will be successful in accomplishing their objectives and if they haven't; make further changes, especially with regard to the new tech 2 ships. Your signature exceeds the byte me limit allowed on the forums-Darth Patches Oh Noes!

Y'all got this all wrong.
This is not a nerf to ships. It is a boost to ambulation. After all the balancing gets done, nobody will bother to undock cause there just wont be anything fun left to do outside the station. Result = more people at the local quafe bar, crying in their virtual drinks.
End Result = NO LAG!! Go go CCP masterminds
