I have a nice, easy noob question....and I am pretty sure I screwed this up.
I took a player contract on to move some cargo. Cargo was a little big to big for my ship, so I broke it down. Got everything where it needed to go, but of course the system can not find the package....
There is no way to repackage this stuff is there ? Or if there is a way to fix it, please let me know as I only have a few hours left to complete the mission....

You screwed up very badly, you're not allowed to break the package, in fact you even get a warning. Enjoy your new stuff, and say goodbye to your collatera.

Alternatively, contact the person who contracted it and ask whether they'd be willing to accept the items anyway and at least refund your collateral.

Naw just some reports, that are valued less then what it cost me to screw up. Lets jus say that this was a 3mil lesson.
Well less then that if I can sell those items, this will have only cost me time and about 300k

Dont worry. Learning it that way is a good way, and those 3mil will be peanuts in some weeks for you. :)
Thos I would really try to contact the guy you contraced with. Perhabs you can make a deal.

I did send a eve mail, I offered to have him buy them back from me for the market value, and he would make about that 300k for my screw up. I figure if I at least attempt to be a nice guy about my screw up, it should not come back and bite me to much in my backside later.

why a gambling buzz, just use 'open container' to look inside. If you like what you see and think it's more valuable then the collateral, break the package. If you don't, just close the container and deliver it.

Courier contracts come in sealed containers. Breaking them open confiscates your collateral permanently. --

Breaking yes, opening not
You have two options on a courier wrap: 1) Break package, 2) open container Breaking voids collateral, Open doesn't as long as you don't take anything out.
At least that's how it worked a year ago.
