Greetings All!
I've been working on this little app of mine now for a while and I thought I'd finally make an official post about it!
EveHQ is a Windows application containing numerous features. At its core, it's a character monitor and skill planner but is based on a "plug-in" system that allows you to bolt on extra functionality when and if you need it.
It's core features include:
- Character monitor: keep track of all your characters across multiple accounts using the Eve API
- Skill Queue: plan each of your characters skill training
- TQ/Sisi status notifications: online/offline status with optional tooltray icon status for TQ
- IGB Server: provides in-game information on items, characters and skill training
- Notifications: receive email, sound or pop-up notifications for skill completions
- Reports: produces HTML reports of various skill and character statistics
As I mentioned above, EveHQ is based on a plug-in system. Current available plug-ins are:
- Item Browser: Contains a searchable database of all Eve's items, even the hidden ones! Provides data on item attributes, materials, metatype variations and comparisons, and skills. Integrates with the skill queue so you can set training for specific ships and modules.
- Data Converter: Converts the Official CCP Data Export files to CSV, MS Access, SQL Server or MySQL Server formats (EveHQ uses as standard an Access DB converted using this tool).
- Character Creation: Provides an analysis of the various starter characters in Eve. Browse through the 216 available combinations, then import your chosen starter character into EveHQ for skill planning!
- Map Tool: Gives system information and allows routes to be planned between 2 locations. Works for both standard gate travel and jump drive travel. Includes gate range and jump range tools, and a graphical display of routes or target systems.
IÆm working on a few more plug-ins and EveHQ is updated at regular intervals so IÆm always open to suggestions for improvements and such. Further information is available at the website û www.evehq.net û which has links to the installer and updates.

Wow, very nice looking tool! I will definitly have a look, and the future developments look especially promosing. I've always wanted an "all-in-one" tool and this one looks like it could be IT.

a nice improvement for the char creation would be, if i can set a list of skills i want to get with my character, and the tool calculates which race/bloodline and attributes would be best / second best / third best ... :)

Not sure if you noticed within the character creation screen, but there is a tab called "Starting Skills". This shows you all the skills that characters can start with. Clicking on a skill brings up a list of the characters that start with that skill (and you can use Ctrl-click to highlight multiple skills).
You can then sort the results by clicking on the column names so you can easily find which character type has the best, say, Willpower for example. --------------

yes, i noticed it. but i still have to do the work of comparing, evaluating. thats wasted, unneeded time that your tool could spend for me :)
and you noticed the difference: -your tool allows me to "choose" starting skills, and shows which of the starting characters will have them.
-my request is to give your tool a goal, a complete list of skills i want to learn with my toon, and your tool compares and evaluates the time needed to reach this goal with different starting characters and gives me the list of characters sorted by time. second part is the attribute points which are best for the character to reach this goal.
the improvements would be that i do not have to do the work, and the room for mistakes is greatly reduced (if i would do it, it would surely be wrong :P)
anyway, it would be a lot of work, and if you think that feature is not important (i have no clue if it is, i just think it would be cool, because that was the thing i was looking for when i started with EvE ^^) ... well, you get the point :)

Sorry, misunderstood you at first but I understand perfectly now 
That is actually one further option I am planning to implement for the character creation tool. Being able to enter your final skill set (or even choose from a list of pre-defined sets?), and have EveHQ select the best out-of-the-box character for you would indeed make it a worthwhile addition. Just need to figure out how to do it now!

Very nice application you made here. Im still playing with it, my only question can it tell you how to decrease skill training time like the other programs out there? If it can, im hooked ---

Glad you like it!
At present, it doesn't give any suggestions for decreasing training time. However, someone has already asked for this feature so it's currently on the top of my to-do list. All being well, there should be something workable later this week.

This is a well done tool, I'm impressed by the constant development on it. One of my biggest feature requests that keeps me going back to evemon is being able to implement training plans based on ships/equipment. The EFT fitting tool is also a great tool, but lacks a little bit in this function.
I'd love to be able to fit a ship just the way I want it and convert that setup into a skill plan. That would be sweet. |

Awesome tool you have here, but I'm having one issue with it..
I've gone through, plugged in my accounts, and have had to enter my pilots into the app manually (XML import). When EveHQ connects for an account update, it stats my characters are not training, and apparently it's going off of the XML files I've imported for training times and whatnot.
Am I missing something somewhere w/ this tool? Once I put my API info in EVEMon, it automatically goes out, connects to the server and brings me a realtime picture of skill training and completion time?
What am I doing wrong?

Hi!
Once you have entered your API key for your account(s), you don't need to manually enter the individual pilots - these should be picked up from when you first connect to the Eve server to download the data.
However, if you've imported all your characters manually, the 1 hour time restriction may still apply and it will indicate if there is an API update available. This will show in the Pilot Data screen as green or red text. I'd wait until an update is available and try to connect to the Eve server again. Any characters in the API data that were previously manual should be "updated" to use the API from thereon.
If this screen says there is an update available and after connecting, it still doesn't work correctly, I'd delete your manual pilots and try the "Retrieve Character Data" option again. Any skill plans you have already made should still be preserved.

I use evemon but have been playing with this the last few weeks, and i must say well done. Its a pretty cool app.
One thing i would like to see is from Evemon, it has a SP/hour counter for your currently training skill.
I would love to not just have this counter but take it one step further so i can see how many SP/hour a certain skill would give if i was to change my training to it. The skill update thing that evemon can do every 15min would be cool as well.
Just my thoughts :p

This is already present but only currently available on the Training screen. I've now added this onto the Training section of the Pilot Data screen for the next version.

Shouldn't be a problem 
I can see 2 possible places where this could be added: 1. On the Pilot Data screen as an additional column in the list of skills 2. Under the Pilot Specific section of the Skill Details screens

I took a quick look but i think the skill detail screen would be perfect, there is plenty of space for it as well.
Looking at the dates on the post, you work fast :) You may have just stole me away from evemon, very nice work!

It would have to have a very nice looking GUI, do something better than EVEMON, and maybe not delete all my data randomly like EVEMON does for me to consider it. --------------------------

Well the GUI is different to Evemon for a start, if your going from Evemon to EveHQ it can feel very wierd. Both programs have there advantages, I love the skill browser in Evemon for example but EveHQ has plugins so there is nothing to stop something similair being developed.
As far as data deletion goes I have had no problems with either program.

I have been working with Sara Dawn from InEve over the past few weeks and I am pleased to announce the release of the initial version of the InEve Uploader plug-in!
This plug-in will take the XML of any of the active EveHQ pilots and upload it to the InEve.net website. The upload is selective so you can opt to leave certain characters out of the upload procedure if required.
Big thanks go to Sara Dawn at Ineve.net for her assistance in developing this plug-in.

Thanks to all the folk that have provided comments/feedback and made suggestions over the past couple of weeks.
I've taken these on board and have released a beta version containing skill queue suggestions and a revised Character Creation Plug-in that will now let you enter goal skills and will recommend the best character for you to start with. I'm looking for further advice to finalise this so any feedback is welcome

k so this is mildly interesting, before I play tf2, what files do I need? I dled 1.2 installer, updated zip files, map plug-in, will that get me in? -------------------------------------------------

That should work fine. Or just run the 1.2 installer and use the update feature of EveHQ and that will bring you up-to-date.

skill planing part is DEFINITELY nowhere near as robust as evemon overall, the GUI/icons etc feels a little bit retro (windows 98 feeling) lots of other plug-ins and stuff I haven't tested, as I understand there isn't that many, which is what the program is all about, I'll be sticking with EVEMon for now but will keep an eye on this.
# Item Browser: already in EVEMon, though may not be as good
# Data Converter: not useful for everyone (or useless for most of all users)
# Character Creation: used maybe once, twice during your whole EVE time, useful but largely redundant
# Map Tool: would be very hard to implement, so haven't really tried if it's broken or not, though if it works flawlessly it's a very nice edition, even if useful only offline/for certain situations/ -------------------------------------------------

I've just released a new version of EveHQ.
This new version fixes some bugs and adds some features that have been requested over the last few weeks, most notably:
- Suggestions are now made on each training queue if there is a quicker way to train those skills via adding learning skills
- The Character Creation plug-in now has an option to enter final skills and will give you a list of the times taken for each character to train those skills (the list is sortable so you don't have to search through it!)
- Changed the "Dependency" section of the Skill Training/Details forms to now show all ships/modules/skills which are dependent on the viewed skill
All the changes can be viewed here. New links have been provided on the EveHQ website for new a installer and a zipped copy of the same files.

I have just released the new Trinity edition databases for use with EveHQ. These contain all the new skills/ships/modules etc from tomorrow's expansion...so start planning during the extended DT 
They are available here in MS Access, MSSQL and MySQL formats.

hi folks,
i'm a complete newbie and wondering if anyone can give me a 'steer' as i'm not clear on how i can populate with data the EveHQ app/database.
i've downloaded and installed EveHQ sucessfully; however when i open any of the 'table' screens all i get is the 'empty' table with headers.
do i need to link/access/download publically available eve data directly from the server? if yes, could you briefly explain for me?

Hi!
There are quite a few aspects to EveHQ so what in particular are you trying to do/look at (where are these empty tables with headers you refer to)?
You should find that if there are any errors with the database, EveHQ will not startup. If it's your character data you are trying to enter, you will need to select Tools > Settings from the menu and in the Eve Accounts section, you will need to enter your Eve API information.

Hi Vessper,
thank you for your post; I'll just offer the observation now that I strongly suspect 'user error' as at work here :), nevertheless, I shall perservere and hopefully you will be able to easily identify where I've got my wires crossed.
In my simple minded approach I downloaded EveHQ MDB rev2.2, unzipped it to a new folder and then launched it; as a result of that the app. Microsoft Access is launched and opens a window; the window is titled EveHQ Database and shows me 70 listed items with names such as:- agtAgents agt AgentTypes agtConfig . . . staServices staStations etc, etc.
clicking any one of those items (e.g. agtAgents) opens a window with the title agtAgents:Table, and seven (7) column header titles plus one row of (empty) cells. Column header titles are variously agentID, divisionID, corporationID, etc.
I feel I'm missing something BUT I'm not sure where to go from here - any assistance is appreciated.

Although it contains all the table definitions and links, it does not contain all the data within the tables, hence why most tables appear blank in Access. BTW, the latest version is the Trinity edition 
I normally put up the full version of the MySQL and MSSQL conversions on my site but if you need the full Data Export in MS Access format, let me know and I'll create and upload one (give me a couple of hours or so - it's a big file )
Edit: It appears I'm already ahead of myself - the data file is there but no link was provided! Try downloading this file and see if that sorts your problem. --------------

Hi Vessper,
thank you for your quick post, the link in the above reply is good and I have now downloaded the file and opened it successfully; as you say, it's the full data set which, unfortunately for me, does not provide the data that I was hoping might be available.
I was hoping to be able to access the relevant, publicly available, data set(s) for ships, modules, weapons etc. and thought EveHQ may be my route to that information; it would seem not, unless you know otherwise.
You may know, or be able to advise me, whether the 'stats' used to populate the Item Database tables/screen is available as a downloadable file. I am simply trying to avoid the process of manually copying each module 'data screen' whether it be for a ship, weapon, charge, etc and had hoped that EveHQ may be the solution for me.
May good health and prosperity be yours for 2008.

The information you are asking for is available in the file you just downloaded, although it may require a little bit of work on your part to get the information in the format you require. That one data file contains all the attributes and materials of all the skills, modules, ships, weapons and ammo in Eve. By using specific SQL queries, you can cross reference any of the tables in that database with any other to get the information you need. In fact, this is exactly how EveHQ gets all the information for the skills and the Item Browser - there are no internal data tables that is uses, it is all in the database.
If you need something more specific than what the database provides as is, please feel free to send me an email (address is in my profile on www.evehq.net) and I'll be happy to look at creating something more tailored to your needs.

Just released version 1.6.0 of EveHQ.
This version contains support for the Logitech G15 keyboard as well as being able to launch Eve in a "Full Screen Window". Not many changes in this release but they are on the way

Great tool! Already surpasses EveMon in some areas. Running both tools currently.
Couple of nagging items to put on your to-do list:
1) When starting, it does not remember your settings. The little pop-up thingie is always there despite turning it off. 2) A bit slow on startup (not a big deal, but could be faster I reckon) 3) The dialog to configure where Eve is installed has most of the controls overlaying the buttons. 4) Group the skills in tree list in some future version please.
Love the reports! Very helpful in planning stuff. Of all the 3rd party skills tools every published, yours takes top prize in reports.

1. Are you referring to the Tranquility Status pop-up box? Or just the tool-tray icon? 2. Yeah, it's not as quick at startup as some apps. It does a lot of work in the background pre-loading items and skill information from the database and then it checks for all valid plug-ins. If there's one particular area it seems to be slower than most if you can let me know and I'll look into speeding it up. 3. My bad . Not sure what happened here. It was fine when I left it, honest! Got the same problem on mine but never noticed it until just now. Will fix that asap. 4. Which tree list needs grouping? Not sure if you're talking about the one in the skill training screen or something else.

I've been tinkering around with some code that reads the current open log file in Eve. I've not included it in the app yet but I'll certainly look at doing it together with some information on the G15.

Thats good News. I just started to play with it. I would like to Offer a Few Suggestions for the G15 Display as well. Displaying Local Time as well as Eve Time would be Cool. You have so much space on the 2 Display screens. Try adding a Third that Shows Corp Wallet if they have access to it. Maybe Some use for the 1st and 4th Buttons as well

I'm really positively suprised by it. Just downloaded and started using.
That said, it crashed on me a few times. Then presented skill trainings to be done yesterday when I'm still in the planning phase. Turns out it was my own computer clock that was set to yesterday, I update it and EVEHQ proceeds to update through the API's - fine. Then it updates through the API's. Then it updates through the API's. Then it updates through the API's. THen it...
And obviously there's no good way of getting out of the loop, other than a swift double Alt + F4 or killing the process.

Thanks for the bug report. I've traced this to an issue with the location of the assets. The new locations in Black Rise (systems/stations etc) are not in the data export and this is causing the error you see. I'm trying to get a new database done for after the weekend and this should sort this bug out.
It shouldn't be a problem to add in a screen to display Eve time/local time. It may be an idea to add in a version/player count to that same screen if you have the server status feature active. The corp isk may be a little more difficult as that information is only retrieved from the assets, but I'll certainly look into it for you.
As for the buttons, button 1 allows you to cycle through your training accounts. If you're only using 1 account, this feature will obviously not work Button 4 is actually unused in the current version but I have changed this in the dev version to trigger an update of the API. A small indicator will appear in the LCD when an update to the API is available and pressing button 4 at this point will update it.

Hmmmm, sounds like you have the auto-update option of the API switched on. EveHQ checks the cache time of the character XML files and if that option is turned on, EveHQ compares the cache time (after adjusting for your regional settings) to your clock time and if your clock time > cache time, then it downloads the XML files. If your system clock/regional settings aren't quite right, this could throw out the comparison and EveHQ thinks the cache timer has expired permanently, hence the continual loop. This should be resolved by ensuring the regional settings/clock are set correctly.

Makes complete sense.
However... I ran the application, set a skillplan updated API and everything. At this point, the computer clock was set to 11th. At this point the XML's would be stating 12th if they are using a centralized time or CCP's time or whatever. And a request of an update would be made, right?
However if the time is fixed, the local time set to 12th the centralized - or ccp time - and local would match and no more updates done.
If they on the other hand just timestamp the XML with whatever the local time is, they would match and everything is fine. When the local date is instead set forward to the 12th, the XML based on local time would appear to be 24 hours old and an update made. This was the point I was making You are correct in that if the cache time in the downloaded XML files is updated with the difference in your local time, this issue would never happen and the files will always be refreshed every hour. I'll certainly take a look at implementing something to correct this.

Hello, was busy trying to make a new alt char and saw your tool, but i miss something :D
It seems, when you HAVE a character, you can use the item browser and add the skills required for the item to your "add needed skills to your queue"
Is it possible to make a button there, that adds the required skills to "character goal seek" queue? And in the charactor goal seek, could you make it so, that if you select a skill, it will also add automatically all the other required skills to learn the selected skills?
That would really rock and make it easier to plan what kind of char you want.

That's an excellent suggestion about adding ship/module skills into the character creation skill queue and one that I'll look at getting put in to the next release.
With regards to the pre-requisite skills, you don't actually have to enter them. If you just enter the skills you want to end up with, the calculations will automatically take into account any pre-requisite skills that are required.

I've just released version 1.7.2 of EveHQ which allows use of the new CCP Data Export in MSSQL without modification. Also released a new Access database version for people who don't want their data quite so fast 
There's not many other fixes and improvements since the last version as I've been concentrating on other stuff, but I have now released a beta version of the ship fitting plug-in.

First off I downloaded this app and it's great, it replaces Evemon and EFT as well as doing a whole host of other stuff.
In the fitting tool would it be possible to put in more infomation for us missile users, as there is nothing that shows explosion velocity and radius?

The information is already available in the attributes of the missile (right click the slot and choose "Show Charge Info"). However, if you are talking about making this info more visible in the columns of the actual slots, then that can be added quite easily so consider it done for the next version.

In the gunnery tool, Quake and Tremor appear to be missing.
Also, both Hail and Barrage are displayed for Artillery, but this is consistent on all weapons. Hybrid weapons list both Void and Javelin on all guns - even though Void cannot be used on rails, ect.

Also, tracking computers do not have scripts in the Gunnery tool. They bonus both optimal and tracking.

The Gunnery Tool was actually a short-term measure implemented while the ship fitting plug-in was developed (it was really used to test stacking penalties). I will be shortly moving the features of Gunnery into Ship Fitting which will support all the correct ammo types. In addition, you will be able to add scripts and it will take into account any skills or implants you have.

Version 1.8.0 of EveHQ is now available together with an Access version of the Quantum Rise database.
Due to current upload restrictions, I won't be able to get a new installer or zipped copy uploaded until tomorrow but the EveHQ Updater will pick up the new version and the database is available on the EveHQ website.
Just a note about plug-ins: The Gunnery plug-in has now been dropped from future versions as this functionality has now been included in the ship fitting plug-in. This feature now also handles missiles as well as scripts, skills, ship bonuses and implants. HQF has also been updated for Quantum Rise and includes the revised ship attributes and bonuses, as well as the new Orca.

EDIT: Would also be a nice idea for n00bs like me if it informed why that selection of skills or certicate would be helpful to them, like allows for flight in a Cruiser and the fitting of Medium Hybrid Rails, something like that. Just a thought.

1) in HQF, checking to show ExpVel and ExpRad do nothing - no values are shown, even though a missile type has been set.
2) Checking Optimal Range does NOT show range on missiles - any way to add this?
3) HQF does not seem to take character skills into account - at least it doesn't on mine.

Okeh, found out patially what the issue was - missile selections weren't saved across sessions of HQF for soem reason, so when I exited FQF to refresh my character ststus manually it lost the settings as to what missiles were loaded. My characters are indeed loaded via the API, using the Full API key to track assets as well - nice touch, the program not even letting you use the tools until you're logged into the API :)
Anywho, dunno if the missile loadout not saving as part of the plan is intended or not - either way, now I know to manyally set the missile type each time I enter HQF.
The calculatuion for max range on missiles seems to be off a bit too - I have Missile Projection IV, Missile Bombardment IV - EvEHQ says I have a max 72 KM range on my heavies, but in-game on a stationary target (Guristas Sentry Gun) I can only hit it from 66KM or less. AFAIK no Defenders were used on the incoming missiles... dunno.

The calculatuion for max range on missiles seems to be off a bit too - I have Missile Projection IV, Missile Bombardment IV - EvEHQ says I have a max 72 KM range on my heavies, but in-game on a stationary target (Guristas Sentry Gun) I can only hit it from 66KM or less. AFAIK no Defenders were used on the incoming missiles... dunno.
All aspects of the fitting should be saved when you exit, including charges and the module status (offline, overloaded etc). Not sure why this isn't happening for you but I'll look into it.
As for the range of missiles, the figure stated is simply (velocity x flight time). In reality, I believe there is some acceleration of the missile so it will always fall short of this maximum. I suppose I could put in a modifier to adjust the range of missiles to account for this.

Just downloaded and playing around with it. Putting an MWD/afterburner on a zealot in the ship fitting screen does not change the displayed max velocity.

Thanks for the report. It's down to a missing attribute in the Zealot ship data and therefore confined to that ship only. I've fixed this issue and will be releasing an update very shortly.

The information is already available in the attributes of the missile (right click the slot and choose "Show Charge Info"). However, if you are talking about making this info more visible in the columns of the actual slots, then that can be added quite easily so consider it done for the next version.
Right-clicking the column header to get a checkboxed list of available columns is the standard windows dev way to implement this user convenience, of course. See, for example, Windows Explorer. |

The bomber velocity doesn't appear to change when you activate the improved cloak, it should be going faster, etc. As well, if you fit two warp disruption field generators on a hictor it show's the reduced propulsion value even if neither of them is activated. It works fine with only one, and yes there are reasons to fit two (scripted and unscripted).

Because EFT has not been updated, I downloaded and had a little fiddle around with your EVEHQ.
I have not played with it for long so I can't report any bugs but from what I have seen so far

The problem appears go have gone away. They are now saving correctly. I probably should mention the ones that didn't save were EFT imports. Although these appear to work ok now as well.

Oops, found a bug. When being in the EVE HQ Settings Screen -> Colors. It lets me choose colors for everything buth the first four items of the "Pilot Screen Skill Colors" group. So basically I can not change colors for "Group Background", "Group Text", "Skill Text", and "Skill Highlight".
I hope this is not too hard to fix... or is this even by design? :P

This program has absolutely floored me. It has everything, everything! I would like to donate some time to helping, and at the very least some ISK, to seeing this realize it's full potential.
Biggest drawback so far is the memory, it is a hog and a half. For what it does, though, it may be a necessary evil.
I'd like to point out some of the great things, and then some of the bugs/problems I've found. Again, I am rockin' this prog like it's 1999!
Ok, first things first:
- Asset management is fuggin awesome. If I missed it in some other program, very well, but here it's laid out in such a way I only wished I had in-game. I can see what is where, a general idea of ISK amounts in various stations, and the same with corporate assets? Outstanding idea and great implementation!
- Ship fitting is good, figuring out that last module slot is something I haven't been able to use since QuickFit went defunct. The tags for T2, Deadspace, Officer-great. Sliding in the DD check is good to go too, and not just a static check, the racial and multiple DDs check make it a great part of this program. And I like having little blurbs like the power readout and CPU, the way the green bar flickers, that's a nice touch. Being able to load out a ship and have all the info in front of you vice having to tab around or dig for it, very good. Both the checkbox method as well as the right click for finding what module will fit is great, and I'm still finding more about this as I use it. Also, the multiple methods of exporting is a great addition.
- The new char creator/skillset is a nice aspect too. There is no such thing as too much information, and it's good to literally have everything at my disposal for whiteboarding a secondary char. I didn't even think it was possible to program it, as I've done all my previous "planning" by hand and eve-search. I like it! The exporting feature is awesome as well. Skill training all my chars requires a lot of planning and I have so many bookmarks and notes that, once I feel the program is stable, I will hope to integrate fully into this program.
Now, the bugs:
- When I switch from a character's skills to another, or open another tab, the skill window has "ghost" images of the skill training bars. Closing the skill window and re-opening it seems to "fix" it.
- Ship fits aren't saving. I've tried hunting for a manual save, and all I came up with was the backup feature and that didn't solve it. One char can make loadouts, then it can't. Another can make them but I can never retrieve it after restarting the program.
- The color palette needs a tweak, I'm still trying to see if that's something I can do myself. The light green default (I think it's default) is horrible and unreadable.
Switching short skills on a char won't update in the program, ie. won't show it as a skill in training. That may be intentional for API query purposes, I don't know.
- The memory it takes up is huge.
Overall, I am super impressed at what I have to use in this program so far, bugs and all. I guess the natural progression, if you're aiming for a true all-in-one, would be a BPO program a la EVE ML Calc. That way I could keep inventory of what I own, what the corp owns, what skills net what, the whole nine. That'd be a friggin' dream (and if it's already in there let me know!) and part of what I seriously enjoy about EveHQ is it's pulling all this info together into one spot, which I like. And not in the static oh-here's-another-spreadsheet way, this program is awesome.
Kudos and thanks Vessper, thanks a ton! Looking for much more to come! And if you need anything, or help, I can do what best I can. Hate to sound like I'm fawning all over this prog but damn it's good!

3. Could you confirm which light-green default and where abouts this is being diplayed? I've configured the character APIs to download only once every hour. I appreciate that the training XML is available on a more frequent basis but I need to check that it doesn't upset the rest of the app first (skill queues in particular).
4. The starting memory is an issue. The first time the app is run, it does consume some additional 200MB as it builds some cache files. I'm obviously not happy with this and will be looking to improve this shortly. Subsequent sessions of EveHQ run with a lot lower memory footprint.
A few of us have started work on an Industry plug-in which will add a lot of science & industry, production, invention and BPO type stuff to EveHQ. Not sure when it's due but if you'd like to help out, all assistance is appreciated

Absolutely impressed with this tool.
It promises to be the all-in-one handy tool everyone would want to have for playing EVE. The sheer amount of information provided surpasses in some cases the information provided by the game itself, as it happens with the Asset tool.
So far, just some small bugs I've noticed:
HQF - To import directly your fittings from EFT is not possible yet, as it happens with the skill plans stored in EVEMON(really cool feat).
Map tool - basically frozen. You can only scroll in or scroll out the graphical display. I can include the first waypoint, but nothing else. Apart from pointing a determined location in the map when right-clicked it doesn't go further from that point.
Really sluggish behaviour between screens. Memory demand must be really huge.
Kudos to Vessper for creating and sharing with us this amazing tool. Thx u very much and keep up the good work!

The function in HQF is there, it seems I made a mistake in not making it very visible 
With HQF open, there is a new menu option at the top called HQF. If you open this, there is an option for importing fittings. The new version (due SoonÖ) has this is a more prominent position on the toolbar.

Somebody mentioned that it should be possible by making the overlay x-offset negative so I've added this functionality in the next version. Unfortunately I can't test it (no dual monitor) so you'll have to check this out when it's released.

Secondly, lets break things a bit down, and see what I liked and what might need improvement. -I totally love the backup tool and starting help tool for EVE.
The asset manager is very nice but, -How can I get it to list all assets of multiple characters or corporations, or any combination thereof? -Is it capable of listing assets in Space? E.g Anchored structures for corp or characters in space with their spaceship? -How can I modify how the price of assets is estimated from eve central? Median prices of buy or sell orders in certain areas of space for example. This can be hidden deeply in some options menues.
The IBG browser for items could need some overhaul wrt. usability. Especially the market price should be IMHO displayed more prominently, and not hidden behind a tab. In General, it the usability of the item browser is not so good. I can't put my thinger on what I found cumbersome, unfortunately.
I am also missing some ``meshing'' between the various modules. -Have the Map-Tool display display results from asset queries -Simple useless stuff like graphical weighting of e.g. amount of assets in a system, weighting by market price etc...
-It should be possible to design a ship and then click on a button ``create skill plan''. This skill plan should contain all interdependencies for all modules necessary to flying that ship configuration, with of course the option of modifying this list later on. One should also be able to load this skill plan into the character creation plug-in.

Asset Manager: 1. If you go into the filter tab, you can select which asset owners you want to include in the main asset list. This can be any combination of character/corporation that you have the correct access for, and will be combined in the main asset view. 2. Yes, it does list assets in space as allowed by the API. This includes POSs (and associated modules) for corporations and ships/containers (secure or otherwise) in space for individuals. Due to limitations in the API though, it's not possible to identify which POS modules are assigned to which POS. 3. Unfortunately, there's no way at present to modify the method of how the Eve-Central prices are obtained - it's a straight median price of both the sell and buy orders from all available regions. I'm hoping to improve the pricing functionality in a later version that will be more selective in which prices it gets (at the user's choice).
Item Browser: I have been thinking about adding a small section as part of each item for "Key Information". At present it shows whether a character can use the item and if applicable, the training time. Another good addition would be the price and possibly even the meta level.
"Meshing": Couldn't agree with you more TBH There's a lot of potential there for interaction between the available plug-ins but it's just getting the opportunity to add it all. Integration of the map and assets is just one area, skill plans and character creation is another, and tighter integration of assets and the fitting tool is also planned.
That said, you can create a ship fitting and click on a button to see the list of untrained skills. If you look next to the pilot's name in the ship setup, you will see a skillbook. If the background of this is red, you can click it to bring up the skills required dialog. From there, you can add the skills into a new or existing training queue. I suppose one thing missing from this is to replace an existing queue rather than add to it.
An Industry plug-in is currently in development but when that's completed to a certain stage, I'll be sure to let the industrial folks know  - - -

If i browse in Item Browser to Mackinaw it says cca 48days to be able to use that ship. If i select Hulk there, it says 49days. Now if i set training queue for each one of them Mackinaw will correctly have those 48days, while Hulk will have 76days.

Spotted a small bug I think - maybe with the data export though...
I was playing with a Nidhoggur setup in the fitter, and with minmatar carrier skill at 4 and 3 dcus fitted I should be able to have 12 fighters but it would only let me have 11. Looking in the audit log it is using amarr carrier skill (at 3) and not the minmatar carrier skill.
Great little program.

The database should be located in the EveHQ installation directory. If it keeps asking you to choose a database and you are selecting that MDB file, then it could be that the download or that file is corrupted. In that case, you could try downloading the standalone database and replace the one in the installation. The DB is available here.

I'd already tried to download the standalone database file before asking for help here. So perhaps something wrong with my .NET installation? I should have 1.1, 2.0 and 3.0 installed..

I made a post on the EVEHQ forums, but I'm not sure if you got it before they went down.
Basically, I'm having a problem with the way EVEHQ records my stats in the Pilot Data section. Pilot Data is reporting my stats as artificially high since Apoc was released. It appears that it /might/ be using my final stat value as the base value and then adding the implants and skill modifiers again, though the numbers are not quite on the mark for this to be absolutely the case
With +3 implants for example, my Intelligence is reporting as 37.4 (Starting 22, +9 from skills, +3 from implant and 3.4 from learning). The correct value is 23.1 (9 base, +9 from skills, +3 from implants and 2.1 from learning)

With +3 implants for example, my Intelligence is reporting as 37.4 (Starting 22, +9 from skills, +3 from implant and 3.4 from learning). The correct value is 23.1 (9 base, +9 from skills, +3 from implants and 2.1 from learning)
This is the same with EvE Mon and ANY other similar tools. It is either a bug or a change in the CCP APIs.

As Ami said, this is an API error. There is some bug in the API that occasionally reports the attributes higher than normal which throws all sorts of weird figures around in the skill queues and the training rates. It has been bug reported to CCP on many occasions so they are aware of the issue and it's just a case of waiting until they get it fixed.
On the issue of API bugs, there is another one which causes skill training times to be reported incorrectly. I have seen this happen when adding partially trained skills to the end of a skill training queue in Eve so please be aware of this one also. This has also been acknowledged as a bug by CCP so again, we must wait until it gets fixed.

Yes - in the main application select Tools > Market Prices, configure your price settings then go to the Snapshot tab and download the prices.

pretty sure I have an id 10 t error.
but... when I download and install, it says it cannot load a database, and I try and assign it to the database in the install folder and it still gives me the error and closes.

When asked to select a database, you could try clicking the option that says use application folder for database location and see if that sorts the issue out.

Awesome work. Altho i have question about icons of items in item browser. It's always exclamation mark in black field. I haven't find out way how to get icon there. Also i tried FAQ and wiki which are both unaccessible for me (wiki leads to some other place and FAQ leads to nowhere).

Getting this same error, but on checking the XML DATA for this character here; http://www.eveonline.com/character/skilltree.asp it shows;

Bumping this thread with some info.
Make sure that the skill training queue is empty on all characters that are not actually training on the account. 
This character had some skills in the training queue that were not training. Another character (training 1 character at a time) was training on the same account, but this character's XML DATA (that the API uses) was corrupted due to the un-empty skill training queue.
Voila. Empty the training queue and immediately the XML DATA is fine and all the external programs are fine (EveHQ, EVEMon, Eve Fitting Tool).  --

I was just wondering about one feature. Would it be possible to include skill queue into Notifications -> Notify of imminent completition of skill training on EveHQ shutdown ? I'd say an option with checkbox "Include queue into notification" or something like that... Then it would count queue into notification.

I think the notification should include the queue as standard and therefore look at the time period you have specified to see if the last item in the queue is less than that time period.
Shouldn't be too much of an adjustment.

Yeah, the alterations I've made will now look at the skill queue to see if that expires within the time specified in your settings and will only warn you in the following cases:
1. Your skill is due to end within the chosen time period and you have no skill queue 2. Your skill queue is due to end within the chosen time period
So in your case, the notification will not occur unless your chosen time is set to 75 hours or more (which you can't anyway as the maximum is 72 hours ) - - -

Try running EveHQ as Administrator. It's probably a file left over from the update process that needs to be removed.
