I know. Too many threads about this war as it is, but still. Is it just me or has the smacktalking deminished both here and ingame?? Have people FINALLY realised it's just a game?? Can this be?? I'm amazed.

I've had many pleasnt conversations with Sa recently. A lot of nice guys. Their just ingame enemies i think a lot of people have realised this, just an odd few who get carried away.

I think it boils down to 2 things.
1)CCP/Polaris has realised that if they didn't get to culling the venom that has spewed unchecked across these forums for months, it was going to ruin part of the real flavor the EVE experience offers. That, and the mags/sites were going to start commenting on it in their pages.
2) The hard-core gamers realise the same damn thing. That we are all just folks working to succeed and have fun. Ya some peeps cheat when they can, ya some twits shoot off their mouths when they should stuff a sock in it, but it's a game.
And it's a hellva lot more fun when you can respect your enemy, than when you hate him.

N'Fran is exactly right. I make it a point to talk to a lot of the CA guys I engage when possibile. It's usually very rewarding when you find out that the guy on the other side of the guns isn't that much different than you. I've met a few lately that are really easy-going and would be right at home in Tyrell's corp chat, and then remember, "Wait... this guy was just shooting at me!" LOL!
I suspect it's like this in a lot of the wars. The enemy pilots in-game tend to develop relationships that don't show up here on the boards, but perhaps that is starting to change. A lot of people on both sides are getting frustrated by the inability of the game mechanic to allow large fleet battles or actually control enemy territory, so a lot of time is filled up with, "Damn, that hurt! What kind of damage mods are you running?"
Some of the hatred is seeping away, which is a good thing. I've always tried to remember that "it's just a game" and I'm glad to see that a lot of others have that attitude as well. _____ CLS Civil Affairs Bureau

Spend enough time in Stain space and some of the little b****rs can't hlep but grow on you. Generally the smack talk is only conducted by n00bs on both sides. (Does that make me a n00b?). The relationship out of game sense is improving, but we pwns you.

Just ask either one who is winning or who came out on top in the last fight and watch the sparks fly all over again.
Cheers.
