Whats the min speed one needs to get an Ishtar to through overdrives/nanofiber internal structures so it can effectively speed tank in solo or small gang pvp (AB or MWD numbers)
And what speeds is the ishtar capable of obtaining solo?
Thanks

0m/s if it's not primary. Try being mroe specific of what you wanna tank, what your gang mates are, whether you want to tackle aswell etc.

Lg snakes + speed implants + fleet bonus (leadership not mods) + AC4 nav 5 + t2 mwd should get u 6km/sec orbitting speed with a very nice inertia modifier

looking for a build that will be mainly solo piracy, so needs to tackle...and then can transition well to a small gang
would like to be able to tank BCs and Some BSs (ratting raven for example)

wouldnt want to spend a small fortun to achieve it, looking for speed numbers for a reasonably priced set up
and the minimum orbit speed ill need to achieve in order to effectively speed tank a turret or missle boat

4km/s Ishtar
2x T1 Poly rig 3x T2 OD / 2x T2 Nano 3x Hardwiring implants - 3% ones / Ship velocity / Ship Agility / AB+MWD velocity
And nav skills at 4's or 5's
That pretty much gets you a 4km/s cheap. Don't snake for a Ishtar, not worth it.

Minimizing risk while maximizing profit when your to lazy or have to short of an attention span to rat/mission/mine... thats why.

Of course not... I don't fly Nano. :p I simply understand why people fly them, and support it. In fact, I'm getting ready to buy my first Nano ship. ^_^ I guess that means I do fly them... w/e...

Edited by: Delnas on 04/11/2007 03:50:09 Speaking of me buying my first nano ship, got a question.
When you want max speed while moving around a target, which is better?
3 Overdrives, 2 Nanos, and two Low Friction Nozzle Joints Rigs 3 Overdrives, 2 I-Stabs, and two Polycarbon Engine Housing or 3 Overdrives, 1 Nano, 1 I-Stab, 1 Low Friction Nozzle Joints Rig, and 1 Polycarbon Engine Housing rig?
Edit; Never mind. Looking at their stats it is painfully obvious. I was hoping the Polycarbon's higher cost would not indicate they worked better for what I wanted. *sigh*

well what are the pros/cons of armor tanking vs speed tanking the ishtar?
i actually ended up buying one tonight because someone was selling one for 120mil with a trimark and auxilary pump rig on it, so pretty good deal.

If you want to armour tank get a Myrmidon.
Ishtar Tank isn't great, it has a bonus to drone control range, it's meant to be far away from the battle.

Slot 6 - Eifyr and Co. 'Rogue' AY-1 (+ 3% agility) Slot 7 - Eifyr and Co. 'Rogue' CY-1 (+3% base speed) Slot 10 - Eifyr and Co. 'Rogue' MY-1 (+3% AB and MWD speed increase)
Slot 10 has that, turret CPU reduction and warfare mindlink implants. I can never choose which one I want, normally I have to go for cpu

that is not expensive setup. Most of the isk is in your pod not in your ship. And if you do low sec or empire fighting, then your pod is 95% safe.

I had about a 4-4.5km/s ishtar. It was a very basic setup:
Polycarbs, 3 overdrives, 1 istab, 1 nano. Implants.
I found that killing certain ships was rather difficult. So I now use a setup designed just to kill well.. basically everything.
3- 150mm rails t2, 1 med neut, 1 med nos mwd, disruptor, cap injector w/800s, 2- t2 tracking disrupt 1 med rep, 1 exp hardener, 1 istab, 2 overdrives
No snake set, a couple of implants, and 2 t1 polycarb rigs.
3300m/s.
Easily outruns high dmg drones. Easily tanks fast low damage drones. If a ceptor gets a web on you. You neut/nos him to worthless. Tracking disruptor is good for messing up those pesky vaga's and such.
Drones: 8 zerker II's, 5 ogre II's, 10 warrier II's.

i like this set up a lot
since i bought this ishtar with the trimark and auxilary rigs, and everyone seems to agree that speed tanking is the way to go with it, ive been trying to come up with a middle ground that gives me enoug speed and the ability to do some armor tanking.
How much slower do you think i would be with this setup minus the polycarb rigs? Not a big deal if i have to replace the rigs though, paid barely nothing for them.

No. Small gangs of 5-10 T2 nano ships can achieve EW supriority, have enough speed to not get killed by blob number #18373, have enough DPS to kill another small gang and are more fun in general cause you are not camping a gate 24/7. Try moving through 0.0 in a non-nano ship looking for targets, IT WILL NOT WORK. I ******* hate this new part of EvE, adapt or die that what a lot of small gang pilots did and you start whining your balls off because of it. Nerf you!
You may not agree with it, but im not undocking in my navy issue megathron in 0.0 unless im pretty sure i wont have 20 carriers and 30 bs dropped out on me. I rather undock in a 8.8 km/s vagabond. Same price if you include the pod and (watch out, number made up on the spot) 1000% more effective.
edit: Thats the realitity of small gang pvp in EvE atm. Dont you get it? _________________________________________________ Breetime
