Edited by: William Hart on 03/11/2007 06:46:02 Is it just me, or are these 23/7 NPCers becoming more and more popular through-out EVE. I've been to many different regions, and I can't say I've been to a region devoid of any of them.
I was rather shocked today to see them even in The Church (Infinitus Odium's alliance). Before leaving pirating to pursue peaceful endeavors in the EVE universe I was pirating under the INFOD banner.
INFOD always seemed to be a top bunch of guys, a lot of fun to fly with. I would never have expected this from these people!
An alliance founded by a bunch of guys who love nothing more than hunting down farmer ravens and ganking them, protecting farmer ravens in their space..
(or perhaps they are just really desperate to jump on the low-sec mothership bandwagon)
Sadness: Raven, Raven, Raven & Raven
Anyways: Can anybody else tell of a more bizarre relationship between a "PvP alliance" and an ISK farming corporation?

Most alliances seem to let farmers in and they pay rent or just give up bounty as tax.
It's kinda sad really... Wish I could get some. Easy income.

Pretty often those "farmers" are just the alts of people currently in enemy territory. Gotta stay busy somehow while shotting poses ;)

Guess that's good for the farmers. Farmers... I mean.. "ISK farming Raven network" WTF?! ___________________________________ - Balance is power, guard it well -

There is nothing in the rules against isk farmers. (sadly)
There are rules against bots and isk sellers.
I think it is just too hard telling the difference between a player generating isk for their own character and a player generating isk for sale. Well... nothing that doesn't take a value judgement. How much time online is too much? Are we sure they don't just idle and go to sleep? etc...

Edited by: Demje on 04/11/2007 16:00:04 the capability to isk farm is ruining the game, not just from a pvp standpoint, but from an isk seller standpoint.
metagaming FTL.
IMO, stop the faction drops off random belt rats, lower the bounty worth, and leave faction drops up to exploration and missions. as it stands now, instead of being something else to do for enjoyment and possibly a prize, its just an easy long grind to amass the wealth to buy more BSes as a single player again.

Edited by: Reem Fairchild on 04/11/2007 16:07:48 I don't see what the problem is. They are ratting. Who doesn't?
(Ok, well I don't anymore, but that's thanks to manufacturing being so profitable, on this character, that my main character can buy all the ships and equipment he needs to fight in.)
It's not the "farmers" that are a problem for the game. They are not doing anything that we normal players don't do regularly. They just do a little more of it than we do. The real problem is ISK buying/selling.

its the ability of farming to be more than subsistence, and actually a huge profit thats the problem, not the farmers themselves persay.
I'd rather the system be that you can make the amount of money, but its restricted by other factors that make perma farming far less efficient than it currently is.
Such solutions could include, but not be limited to:
-Increased response by the faction you're farming, i.e., if you keep killing them in a single system, they have a response which becomes stronger every time, such as more powerful ships, ships with better resists, etc. and these ships would stick around, and eventually disperse after the aggressors 15 minute timer was up.
-lowering the pirate respawn rate to less than a quarter of what is is now.
-relieving all belt rats of faction loot.

Just a note here, this isn't actually even INFOD members, although most likely they're isk grinding alts from within the ally that they can then use to provide for the less... well liked by CONCORD.
