Calling all UK players...
We are going to attempt to try and have and EVE meetup/****up in Central London on Saturday 10th April.
Already have about 4/5 PIE people interested in attending plus the possible special guest appearance of famous Gallente wenches Miso and Jovin Ketils later in the evening.
Haven't decided on a venue yet as I need to get an idea of numbers - but it will be in central London, will start 8pm ish and alcohol can be purchased ;-)
Should be a fun evening!
Minmatars not allowed...
Please post if your up for it!

Sounds like fun, only 7 days after my birthday as well  . If you get a venue listed, I might just come down and show all you sassenachs how to drink , lets just hope ScotRail isnt going to start more "repairs"

As you are probably aware by now. Imperial Dreams players (some anyway) have a fearsome reputation for drinking and as im aware we now have 6 dedicated drinkers who should be available to show all you other EVE players how to have a real good time :)
Also, seeing as im 34 I guess I will probably be one of the oldest there hehe

Don't worry - I aint forgotten - just waiting to see how many turn up - We now have about 7/8 PIE (including 1 Belgian, 1 Austrian and a Dutchie) on promises and a whole lot more from other Corps saying they are up for it...
If numbers keep going up may need to go to one of those big mega pubs so we can all fit in!
Maybe the Moon Under Water on Charing Cross Road for instance? It's a Wethersppons but a kinda more trendy one with plenty of space and the beer is cheaper
Happy to take suggestions as I obviously have no taste

Well when I arrived there was a fight going on at the main entrance. A Danish national calling himself Golan Trevize had apparently been 'camping' the door for Minmatars. I am not exactly sure what this 'camping' is - but the gentleman was dressed rather strangely. As for what the Minmatars are I deduced that they are an ethnic group from Eastern Europe who have come here to live off our benefits.
Mr Golan Trevize (who apparently works for an organisation called PIE?) was involved in a scuffle with a man calling himself 'Wren' who was very upset about 'slavery' and intent on destroying the 'Empire'.
Well sir, I am afraid I wasn't sure which Empire he was referring to but as the guy looked a bit dodgy (and on the off chance he had something against the Queen) I decided to arrest him under the counter-terrorism act.
He is currently in Charing Cross nick being intterrogated by Scotland Yard. Personally I think he must be linked to Al-Qaeda.
Just as I had managed to seperate these two another fracas broke out. As I attempted to make my way across the various others in the bar warned the combatants that 'Concord' was on its way. I am still trying to figure that one out.
Apparently a gentleman known as Lord Zap was a bit upset about (losing his ship?) recently and had decided to 'gank' someone. He was engaged in a heated debate with a person of indeterminate sex who referred to herself as Jade Constantine.
Lord Zap was accusing Ms Jade of being a 'carebear'. I have to say that the aforementioned Ms. Constantine, who incidentally looks nothing like a carebear, was giving as good as she got - hardly allowing Mr Zap to get a word in edgeways - much to his frustration.
I eventually decided to arrest Mr Zap after he threatened to 'pod' Ms Constantine - as I assumed this was a threat of a sexual nature.
Things queietened down for a while until one group accused another of being 'noobie battleship miners' and then all hell broke loose.
I have to admit I joined an individual named Joshua Calvert who managed to escape the bedlam by hiding behind the bar in what he termed a 'safespot'. It was the only sensible thing anyone said all night...

Here ya go! I posted this a while back and no one objected... Still have a little time to change it if someone has a better idea.
Did think about hiring someplace but I prefer to keep things simple and not have to worry about deposits/numbers etc... If you turn up you turn up if you don't then we will get drunk without you...

Well i'd seriously consider flying down there and meet up with a corpmate to join u. The thing is, what do u people look like...This may come across a bit shallow and probably is, but I once considered going to the Dutch eve meeting and the pictures afterwards confirmed that it was a good idea not to go there. A bunch of 40 year olds with quake 3 t-shirts in some sort of place that is normally used by the local seniors to play bingo at. So uhm...yeah pics please.

seing as its a 'spoons i dont think that id will be an issue
(i seem to remeber being served in the same place when i was 17 on a UO meetup)
as to where its located from euston station it should only be a couple of stops down on the northern line, then a relatively quick walk from charing cross station (if it is the pub i am thinking of) streetmap gives this map as to its location tho i think the arrow should be further down, as i seem to remeber that place being just off trafalgar square.... and if it is the pub im thinking of then it should be a pretty good place to have the meetup, especailly as i'm a poor student and probably couldnt afford to get drunk in any non-wetherspoon london pub :>

I know that pub. Its opposite a Dance school about 10 mins walk down from Tottenhancourt road... You have to watch out for it though, the front of the pub is not that large, but once you get inside the place stretches right back. Should be fairly empty on the Easter weekend, but I dont remember it being espiecaly cheap...
I read somewhere that 40 year olds could be considered dull at this event, does that mean you guys are all teenagers?

In British terms Bristol is a long way from London. However in American terms it not far at all.
It will take you about 3 hours by train and about 4 by car to get from Bristol to London, but as it is the Easter weekend the traffic will be really horrible. You might have to book train tickets in advance too.

On the time side. I will be arriving at Lloyds pub at roughly 1800 so if anyone is arriving around that time then mail me or convo me ingame. Zombie inc. Just hijacked a 747 and are coming to the UK 8th of april. The time before the "gathering" will be used to bookmark safespots and instajumps between the hotel and the pub. Pilot for the journey will be Leitari with 2 stewardess to assist him, Hatur and the Mighty Triniton.
Ps. GM White, you can share bunks with Triniton, he's begging for it. As for the flight..... Im sure we can stowe you in the luggage compartment.

I went to the pub yesterday just to make sure its large enough and it is.
If you are coming from Leicester Square Tube walk UP Charing Cross Road in the direction of Tottenham Court Road.
Just before you will reach Lloyds you will pass a pub called Molly Mogs and then a Garfunkels restaurant. Lloyds is just past that. It has a small entrance so can be easy to miss. There is a bookshop on the other side of the road called Blackwells.
In the middle of the pub is a raised area on the way back to the long bar at the rear of the pub. I suggest we try and congregate there...

You do know where that Weatherspoons is right? It used to be the WORLD famous MARQUEE. Where bands like GnR played there first gigs in the UK....

The Marquee first opened in 1958 in Oxford Street, and moved to nearby Wardour Street in 1964. It eventually headed a few streets away to Charing Cross Road in 1988, but closed its doors in 1996, and the site is now occupied by a public house. (Lloyds)
Almost every major act played at the Marquee before its closure in 1996, including Jimi Hendrix, U2, REM, and The Who.

That's the bookshop I wasted most of my loan on trying to be intellectual and thinking I needed Hume's treatise...
And that's also the pub I got completely wasted on on an OTC pub-crawl *Sigh* why couldn't you lot have organised this for DURING my bloomin Uni term? That place is a 15 minute walk from my HALLS! *Cries*
Oh well, guess if i do decide to grace you all with my studentified presence, it'll be sometime that afternoon... but not for too long :S trains are begger to my region. And i doubt my girlfriend would be too accomodating of me; her mother alredy suspects me of many deviant things.

Couple of mates used to work at the pub when it was a Wetherspoons so I know it well and used to drink in there a fair bit.
Suggest using the bar towards the back as an impromptu meeting place - unless the layout has changed since new ownership.

It was a great night with plenty of beer Having a member of Polaris and a CCP presence was great. Also meeting fellow PIE members and dozens of others from within EvE was fantastic.
It was well worth the trip to London!

Outstanding night out guys, well worth the wait. Still trying to piece together what happened throughout the night, vague memories of being harassed by random PIE members, as well as the odd pirate.
Vague memories include:

What a night, it was hilarious.
Some thoughts that spring to mind:
Asking Leitari if he was drunk, and getting the reply "I'm going to F you up! *hic*", that was class... Not sure how much you Zombie guys drunk before arriving, but my Phone just kept ringing with people asking where the Pub was.
Kerren was cool, and am also extremely grateful towards CCP for allowing ActiveAlli to come along, with the sheer amount of merchandise he had - next time I owe you a pint
Also, kudos to the FE guys - we had two travel over from Ireland, and all the FE guys were fantastic to talk to.
We headed back to Hardin's place after finishing up @ Lloyds, and spent a good 20minutes watching Ethidium say goodbye to Risith, Ciar, Sqalevon (and naked Kyhan). Finally crashed around 2:45AM, having had several more beers back @ Hardin's, alongside a couple of games of Halo *cough* Hardin Sucks *cough*.
Thanks to Hardin, for organising this, and also for putting 4 total strangers into his house for the night.
And finally, besides thanking everybody whom turned up - Special thanks to the Blacksheep and ID guys, all fantastic to talk to, both about things in EVE, and out.

This night was with out a doubt a blast. My head is still dishing out pain and Triniton is by my best knowledge still ruined in the bed at the hotel. Thx to Hardin for setting this up and cheers to everyone that showed up.

Big time kudos to Hardin for setting this whole thing up. It was great to meet a bunch of fellow Eve-ers and talk about...well, everything pretty much. The Blacksheep had to cut out somewhat early due to travel plans, but fun was had by all. And Russo wants everybody to know that he got 3 confirmed kills on the way home. He's a nutter, that one.
We'll certainly see what we can do about getting on over to Austria this summer to hang out with Ethidium and whomever else decides to show up.

Well, home at last.
This weekend was a blast for us and I wanted to thank everyone for everything.
The evening was nice until my memory got a bit shoddy due to massive drinking. As someone said in an earlier post I regret not doing more of socializing than drinking. (or sumthin like that.)
So apologies for any verbal or physical abuse anyone might had endured from me.
Think it was a big mistake bringing that Icelandic schnapps bottle along.
I've got lots and lots of pictures but no way to post them anywhere so if anyone is willing to lend a hand please contact me.
Now to the most important part. As there are considerable gaps in my memory from that night Im wondering if anyone knows how I got back to my hotel? And also I have some unexplained bruises on my chest and ankle that Im not sure how got there.
We seem to have pirated a hat from someone and we brought it back with us to Iceland, I have a pic of that hat so if someone is missing a hat contact me. (womans hat I think).
Hail to Hardin for setting this up, it was a honor to meet the fine people of Eve Online.
