Background:
For those of you who have not been keeping up with what the new Revelations patch will be bringing when it is released in late Novemeber, among many other additions and improvements is the T2 Freighter. It will feature a smaller total cargo bay (~220,000 m3 before skills) in exchange for a jump-drive. Anyone that has ever escorted a freighter should be excited by this prospect, because it means:
- No more freighter escorts - No need for a costly and time-intensive POS network - No need for a titan to jump-bridge supplies - Complete safety in 0.0
Assuming CCP allows them to enter highsec, there is very little chance your freighter will be able to get ganked carrying all of your valuable mods (undock -> jump to cyno). In 0.0, you'll be able to move all of your minerals from factory to refinery to market hub in complete safety. This is also going to be a huge stress reliever if you run any kind of moon-mining or reaction chain. No more 300au warps, no chance of log-in traps, but most importantly, no more alliance freighter escorting ops.
Purpose: I know I am not the only one excited by the addition of these ships, so I started planning shortly after I had heard about them to invent them. As you can imagine, this is an expensive endeavor. Freighter BPOs are not only expensive, but take a month to make a single copy, so numerious copies have to be purchased. Without going into boring details, I want to make sure there are enough interested parties (and that they have the money to back their interest up) before I become seriously invested in this.
So this thread will server as an interest gauge of sorts. If I feel that enough people express an interest, I will proceed to do what needs to be done to begin inventing these as soon as they are available. I will be inventing the Anshar (Obelisk, Gallente) and the Nomad (Fenrir, Minmatar). Stats for both can be seen here: Anshar Nomad
Qualifications: I do not care if you are friendly, neutral, or hostile to my corporation or alliance, what side of the war you are involved with, whether or not you are involved at all, or if you live in empire, 0.0, or lowsec. I'm inventing these because logistics are a pain in the ass, and I think there is a profit to be made. I am also interested in acquiring one for myself, and so are several of my friends.
However, I am not going to price-gouge or rip people off. If I wanted to, I would roll the dice and sell the first few I invent for 250% profit and hope I make a little bit. I am trying to line a group of interested parties up and make money by selling in volume. If the freighter costs me 3b to invent and build, you won't see me trying to sell them for 8b. But the hard details will be made public closer to the time I start taking deposit money.
Procedure: Since I have to actually sell something or risk getting the thread moved to a forum with no traffic, if you are interested in getting on the list for either the Anshar or the Nomad, send "Dungar Loghoth":
11 isk for the Nomad 22 isk for the Anshar
and I will add you to my spreadsheet of interested parties. I will also confirm your interest with an evemail. Please only express your interest with your main character (no 2-man alt-corps or newbie corp alts please). I understand many of us have freighter alts in alt corps, but I want to make sure those that are interested are actually interested and can back their interest up with isk. Your identity will be be held in the strictest of confidences.
Feel free to ask me any questions you have about the freighters, their uses, the waiting list, my experiences and qualifications, or anything else either in this thread or via evemail.

He didn't say he's inventing the caldari one now did he?
It's a pretty big assumption you're making that they will be allowed in high sec.

I never said he was inventing the caldari version I was just going along with the theme he has going.
Although I wouldn't mind a caldari version either for myself or my alt or both

I'm not inventing the Caldari one at this time, only the Minmatar and Gallente.
It is an assumption that these will be allowed into high-sec, but even if they are not, they will still be exceptionally useful.
