Ya its so hard 5000 chinese/russian trial accounts can scan out a ship in deadspace with a week training. Probing WAS an art and science. A good prober was invaluable. Now any ****** who can fit a launcher can find anyone in a system.

Points to expolration and the need for the unwashed masses to be able to scan down a site without 2 rank 5 and 1 rank 8 skill to level 5.. TBH ships (and only ships) should still require level 5 probe skills to snuff out with any consistancy..

Im certain there are ways to make exploration suitably easy for idiots without turning probing into the joke that it is now. A week training and you can now easily and reliably find a ship in dead space. Thats just ********. Now its so easy its ASSUMED that you will be scanned out near instantly. Its just stupid how easy and how low SP is required now.

Points at your sig
If they were in range and you still didn't hit them, they were in deadspace.
Snoop range is around 750mil, but for probing mission runners you want to try Quest. Pick the type according to the ships racial sig...ie Gravi for ravens etc.
You now owe me 100isk for genuine advice

Its usually very easy to get in Range for Snoops. You just have to scan "up and down" a little. Dunno if this really helps or if its just my imagination... hehe.
And always also scan for drones, not only ships. Helps much ;-)
If your lucky AND have good skills, you get the raven before he realizses and has completed its alignment for warp... harrharr

How about we change probes from "over here!" into...."generally in that direction" probes. For ships that is.
Then if you want to snif out the exact location of a ship, you need to target it for the probe.(so to speak)
Now that would give you the info on the ship, but that would also cause a fine little add to the world. The probe would show up for the ship your sniffing out and could be even shot down
