having had some trouble recently with getting sufficient standings with Creodron for my alt to start using the RnD agents, I've been thinking how wonderful it would be if I could bribe said agent into liking me more.
It could be pretty steep - say, 1 million ISK per 0.01 increase to standings, but it'd be a good way to kick-start your rise up the ladder

so people with billions could just bribe their way into 10.00 standing
bad idea, but if ccp did do this, you would have to have a exponential decay on how much isk per standing. so as you bribe more, it costs more or makes standing increase less

That makes more sense, yeah. The idea was for it to be an effective, albeit expensive, way of kick-starting things, not provide an instant access to 10.0 standing for the insanely rich. you could even cap it at a maximum (say, 3.0) - no matter how much you spend, the only way to rise higher than that is to work for them properly, and it's really expensive to get even that far.
I'm not talking a game-breaker here, I'm talking a system that allows for easy access to low-level agents so that you don't spend days trying to finally squeak out that tiny +0.25 standing that will allow you to use that one agent from which point you can move on to bigger and better things.

You could bribe agents but only between a -4 to -2 standing or similar. But they removed that years ago.

Well, thats how it works in real life. Tho I agreee it isnt the best idea for a game.
The problem is more, that gaining standing with an agent is GRIND!
