Hi, and welcome to my thread.
10,500 years ago, before the Eve gate opened a point to the Milky Way Galaxy (the date given in the history books is a lie), a convoy of alien rock life forms emerged into the universe we know as Eve.
Where they came from is a mystery. They lay dormant until the first humans, the French from Tau Ceti, emerged from their home galaxy, the Milky Way. Detecting humanoid life, the alien rock civilization sprung to activity and began to multiply exponentially across the entire Eve universe.
The humanoids who began to settle the Eve Universe came into contact with these rock life forms. They did not know they were sentient, and utilized various forms extraction methods against these living rocks. Quintillions upon quintillions of rocks were extinguished in the process.
The rock life forms were angry about losing so many of their bretheren and swore revenge. |

Edited by: Mooogie on 05/11/2007 12:42:38 These rocks, native to empty space, were used to just floating about in space. In this form, they would communicate with each other, often playfully bouncing into each other and breaking parts at times. This is how they would reproduce.
The humans called these rocks asteroids, as they resembled the rocks from their own home galaxy, and gave them strange names like "Veldspar" and "Plagiocase". As it happens, the rocks have a hive mind, controlled by queens that would inhabit a belt. The queens were incidentally named "Omber".
The master of all rocks, however, is unknown to this day. It is thought that it ,or they if there are more than one, are impervious to conventional forms of visual perception, as well as all forms of sensors. It is thought that the Jove came into contact with this master of all asteroids, and this is why they are both the most advanced race in the Universe as well as the most plagued.
Somewhere, somehow, the master of the rocks decreed a devious plan. They would live amongst the humans and eradicate them, while posing as humans. Most of them are within Amarr space and pose as Amarr. Indeed, all Amarrian emperors have been rock life forms posing as humanoid. Furthermore, they would evoke control over the humans by forcing them to abide by an exchange currencies. They formed The Eve Central Bank, easily the most insidious entity in the entire Eve Universe.
The humans had no form of economy or finances. They had evolved beyond the need for monetary acquisiton or compensation. The rock life forms brought an immediate end to that once their incursion had begun. They saw that the humans had formed a dependency on their rock bretheren to build their ships, their homes, their places of domain. |

EvE is like Jack Vance's stories: it doesn't need aliens because people are alien enough.
CONCORD provide consequences, not safety; only you can do that. |

Interesting, ahhh... take on roids.
As much as they seem to have cold hard ingots of worthless granite as hearts, the recent death of the Amarr emperor, and the subsequent rotting of his corpse (those parts that were not cybernetic) proves this hyphothesis, alas, incorrect.
If your thoughts were true I would enjoy chasing them around stations with mining explosives. :) -

Little known fact: The disease ridden master rock is Caldari Prime. Hence we didn't want it anyway and gave it to someone who already carry all sorts of disease.
