Ok, here is the basic idea.
Let's say you are reseraching some kind of HAC (not important really).
Let's say Zealot, have 80% ress on thermal (I have no clue how much really in game), but during reserach process (when you get BPC), some Zealot's could have lower or higher stats.
Let's say from 75% to - 85% (thermal) - could be totaly random, and even some skills related.
This goes for other stats as well, like speed, or whatever really.
This way we can get same ships in class, but never really same kind of ships.
This can be applay for any module really, but seem's better just for ships.
This will ofcourse produce different market as well, some BPC's will give out better ships then others. BPC's will not be sold just based on amount of RUNS or whatever, but this stats as well.
This way, invetion process can actually provide you BETTER ships then actual T2 BPO's can give away, or more reason to go with invention.

Yes.
Let's say base is 80%(base is whatver T2 bpo is giving) - you can go from 75% to 85% - it's random based. But the point is, it will be hard to fly two same ships out there, there is space for so many varations.

Just a small problem with having a ship with different attributes : The Market wouldn't support them. You'd have a different market entry for every percentage variation possible. That makes for that many more entries on the database, and just that much more stuff to try and figure out in space.
Too much system load for little benefit. _______________________________
