Originally by: Kata Dakini Edited by: Kata Dakini on 05/11/2007 23:10:07 Edited by: Kata Dakini on 05/11/2007 23:01:52 So on Saturday night, as a friend and I left my apartment for night four of an extra long weekend of debauchery, we came across a box in the back alley just sitting there. It's like a safebox, probably fireproof, with a lock and it is very macho. We checked it out, and it was unlocked.
Opening it revealed a number of curious documents. We decided to take it back to my apartment and investigate further. Contents as follows:
Birth Certificate Social Security Card Insurance cards Dozens of US Army awards, certificates, and other achievement recognition documents.
This is pretty weird. We had a toke and decided that we have just found ourselves as minor characters from 24 or Bourne Identity. This guy's whole life is inside this box, some pretty important documents, and this box was just sitting on the street unlocked.
So we left the box at home and went and got drunk.
I work with a number of ex-military, and had one of them who is a retired Master Chief call the closest Army base (Fort Carson) to report what we found. The woman on the other end gave 'em a hard time. Nothing was accomplished.
So I guess I'm gonna just take this thing down to the police station and turn it in.
I've tried finding him with Google/myspace/etc, but I didn't come across any good leads. If I wanted to pay a PI, I'm sure it would be easy, but I don't want to pay jack. The info I have is:
Full Name DOB SSN Last known rank in Army A couple former addresses Car make/model which might not be current
I'd like to know what happened to this guy, and why this box of his was sitting in downtown Denver at 10pm on a Saturday, unlocked. WWHD?
OMG, HE KNOWS THE MASTA CHEIF!

Was the box orange, by any chance?
Failing that... going with Titor.

I can think of two things:
1) The box you found belongs to a double agent in the US military, who has been kidnapped and killed by CIA operatives. The guy no longer exists, all his records have been destroyed... But now that you`ve found that, they`ll search for you, and kill you in order to end your quest of knowledge...
Thus, as we speak, they are probably tracking you right now, getting closer with every second you stay online... If we no longer heard of you, we`ll know this is true, we`ll miss you, and we`ll learn from your mistakes: "Never ever dig too much" and "Burn the evidence".
2) The safe was in the trunk of a car, the safe jumped out (maybe a bump), hit opened the safe...
3) Junkie theory someone already posted.
I like mine, mind you :P
