I noticed weeks ago that the prices in low sec were nearly 1.0 ISK cheaper than in the surrounding high sec.
I figured either Freighter lure, or mission runners/pirates who stumbled onto the price increase, and reprocessed all their trash and put it up cheaply on the Market for a quick sale while the selling was good.

I've seen this too and they appear to come from 5-6month characters, at least the toons I purchased 1 trit from. Did it in 3 separate instances, one was only 7mil, one was 32mil the other was 184mil units. All between 2.2 and 2.7.
What I put it down to was 0.0 alliances selling their stock piles of minerals because finally it's worth it to bring a freighter load of trit back to empire. There are also a really good number of wars going on, so they stay in low sec.
But why sell for 2.5isk when you could sell for 3.0 and still make the sales.

Originally by: Block Ukx I have no proof that is coming from NPCÆs. However, one day I saw Millions of Tritanium units suddenly appear in low sec for 2.50 isk when there were purchase orders a jump away for 3.5 isk. These orders pop in many low sec systems all at the same time.
If this is the case, then player action becomes less likely. Why set up large sell orders one jump from large buy orders, with a significant price difference? How hard is it to make that jump?
I've seen these orders too, and they all had < 90 day order duration, rather than > 364 day durations, however.

There are any number of explanations for this. The most likely one is lazy miners.

The way I figure it is people getting that crazy industrialist mission. Sucks to do, gives 2.5M trit with a low ball security deposit, and you can readily fail it. If you faction standing is high enough it doesn't matter to the corp if you fail it over and over again until you start tapping negative numbers. Any mission ho will easily keep that drastic circumstance from happening.

Could this be in any way affected by the onset of the Rorqual?
A quiet op in a 0.0 region; jump back to low sec; dump the trit there, and move the high-ends into core systems?

I'll let you in on a little "secret" that's not a secret at all.
There are a few courier missions that make you transport tritanium, shedloads of it. Whenever the "source" station is in lowsec, the courier guy prefers to just buy trit at the destination and SELL the "source" tritanium at a loss to recoup some of the costs, so he doesn't have to actually go there. Or he does that after he dies a couple of times trying to get there _

Because trading is the art of making profit without even undocking. I'm buying/selling on regional scales in different regions. I don't care if buy orders are close to the stock, I need them in the SAME station, otherwise I set a sell order. So yes, I'm one of the guys selling trit around 2.5 now, in a lot of low sec systems, even if I never went in low sec and never mine 1 unit of trit. If you think its so cheap, please go buy it all.

A good point. If it is still on the market then it clearly means no one has yet decided it was worth the price.

Ah i would love to go buy it all. As 150 mil of it is in the same system my mains corp clearly controls. :) I dont have any problems with lo sec at all as long as it is a area i am known or know who controls. My main can operate a freightner, But he is -9.4 so it would be a bad idea for me to jump it into high sec wich is where the real danger is. But If you are interested i could gladly arrange transportation and protection for you in your freigthner (and pardon my english, engrish) ^^
