Originally by: Asestorian Hmm.. I'm not sure it's a good idea to actually force people to PvP. I mean, I'm all for PvP, but only when I want to do it. But really it needs to be made so obvious that at any point during the time you are undocked you could DIE HORRIBLY IN A FIRE AND NO ONE WILL CARE AND IF YOU COMPLAIN PEOPLE WILL LAUGH AT YOU, whilst also making it clear that there are ways to avoid this and how they work.
Not as such, but the missions could push towards it, and even warn that "this is not some two-bit rats you're after, these are pod pilots, sure you think you're ready for this?" with an optional route, so you would never HAVE to PVP, but the option to do it in a mission style learning place would be there.
Same with mining etc, missions as tasks, and new missions as more of a "learning tool" and later "professional" tool.

Since you are still pretty new to Eve, I suggest trying some low level COSMOS site. Level 1-3 are pretty easy in a Frigate. They can be found usually in the overview as something like Sansha Drug Site or similar.

Join a Corp and learn what EVE is truly about, teamwork. Work with some Corp mates and find out what you like about EVE.

hey hey
COSMOS was one of the most fulfilling part of my PVE Career and as i completed it during the early stages i actually managed to get a much more unique experience.
As to PVE in general the endless monotony of it can drive you totally insane and the "endgame" is just non existent and unrewarding. One of the biggest things (imho) that PVE could become is a move toward some more dynamic content. This has been mentioned in the mission forums many many times and has fallen on deaf ears. I will agree (to an extent) that there has been some attempt at it but they seem to continually fail.
One of the endless problems of PVE is that the whiners in missions forum are just as big as COAD and missions often get gimped back to being a grind. A big example of this will be the new missions when they hit in Rev III. Just watch how many posts with "OMG my RNI got butt****** its too hard change it !! " posts appear within the first few days of the patch. the "fix" patch a couple of weeks after Rev III will almost certainly contain changes and tweaks to missions.
If those that choose to only PVE want more PVE content then "we" should treat missions as more than just the grind to get stuffÖ
One of the reasons why i chose eve and have remained faithful to her is the choice whether or not to PVP. Nowhere is totally 100% safe but you can survive and still enjoy the game and never PVP. It is however, overlooked by CCP and the majority of the game is certainly PVP based.
Trader, Builder, Miner, Inventor, Fighter, Agent ***** or even Goon. EVE certainly has it all.

pvp is getting quite repetitive to. also getting a fight is highly time intensive and noobs get killed within seconds anyway..
