Does anyone know if CCP or some authorized outlet offers mini ship figures or model kits?
If not: Come on CCP I got money I'm dying to give you for this! |

Wasnt there talk about a miniature game a couple of fanfest ago? I have friends that play miniature games that would switch to an Eve game if it came out. |

I just want models I can build or figurines that I can put on my desk and admire. Possibly to hold and run around the house going "pew! pew!"
Seems like an obvious money maker for CCP
I tried googling it but just got site trying to sell me isk or items in-game. |

I'd pay good money for a model of a mining barge. Doesn't need to do much, just look good. -------------------------------------------------- I'm a rich person. How I know? I can afford to be a miner. |

You could always grab some sticks and chewing gum and sell it as a minmatar modeling kit
But yeah, a mega or raven on my desk would be pretty cool. |

EVE miniatures, especially if designed for a table-top strategic ship combat game, would definitely elicit more money from my bank account into CCP's beer fund.
I mean, CCP, you've partnered with White Wolf, one of the kings of the table-top gaming industry.
Hell, I'll design the rules of the game for you. Miniatures games rock! ----- You're not what you are, you're just what you do! So it ends with their butts and it starts with your shoe! - Awesome Car Fun Maker |

Do want! Hell, I would buy them all. I would sit on my bed and say "pew pew pew" all day and night.
But if you made a tabletop version of Eve, I would give even more to the CCP beer fund.

Yup, I'd buy a Rokh, Drake, Merlin and Hulk models if they came out. Though I admit I'd prefer the "airfix" kind, assemble and paint them yourselves.
From a money making perspective for CCP it would be cheaper for them probably to just put out the already assembled and painted models rather than making a bunch of custom moulds for every piece of say a tempest.

not necessarily a miniature but a desktop model or figurine type would be cool to have.

here they are ---

Easy.
Go with a movement phases system. Like in HERO.
12 phases. Capital ships move phase 12 only, and move 1 hex per phase. Battleships move on phases 6 and 12, usually 1 hex per phase (see AB/MWD below). BC's 4, 8, 12; 2 hexes per phase. Cruisers, 3, 6, 9, 12; 2-3 per phase. Destroyers and Frigates - 2, 4, 8, 10, 12; 3-5 per phase. Drones move 3/2/1 (sm/med/hvy) hexes every phase. AB doubles hexes per phase, MWD 6x hexes per phase. Ships move 1 to 5 hexes per movement phase, depending on class / race. Ships also fire at the end of every movement phase, if they so desire.
So, a battleship would move 2 hexes per turn. A MWD Ceptor with base 5 would move 165 hexes per turn (30 hexes per phase over 6 phases.) Mostly the purpose of this would be to orbit a ship, say 1 30 hex orbit per phase, to keep the to-hit modifiers way up there.
Make to-hit rolls take hexes moved in the last turn (all 12 phases) into account, to enforce the "big guns don't hit small fast ships" rule.
I'm telling you, I could totally write this up with HERO rules :) ----- You're not what you are, you're just what you do! So it ends with their butts and it starts with your shoe! - Awesome Car Fun Maker |

Oh, and the math:
8000 / 140 = 57.xxx
165 / 2 = 82.5
So I could even slow 'ceptors down a touch. ----- You're not what you are, you're just what you do! So it ends with their butts and it starts with your shoe! - Awesome Car Fun Maker |

Definitely be interested in this. I'm not into CCG games these days, but minutures are definitely a lot of fun. As it is I run a campaign that combines the TriStat dX rules with the MechWarrior clix system for the real combat stuff. Bring out a set of minatures for this and I'm sure there's many of us that could make up rules to go with it pretty quickly.
The "training time" for leveling up would match about the right campaign length for our groups (we average about 2-3 years per campaign) -- Industrialist Carebear, CEO Illudium Space Products: Where's the KABOOM!? LP offers by corp at the LP Store DB |

I've been keeping this under my hat for ages, desperate to say something, but until recently haven't been able to!
A friend of mine has an agreement with CCP & White Wolf to release a set of Eve Online desktop models. Initially this will comprise of the best loved racial battleships: The Apocalypse, Raven, Tempest and Megathron.
The models were "soft launched" at the fanfest, with one of the prototypes being given away as a prize there.
I've not seen a lot of coverage yet, so with my friend's permission I've posted this message. No idea on pricing or when they'll be available, but they ARE (theyaarrr?) coming!
Have just emailed him to see if he has any promo still he can let me post to show you guys and gals. Watch this space ...
(Any questions, I'll try to answer or pass them onto him.)

Ok I just got an email back from him.
No pics yet(*), he's making some changes to the models as they are going to be based on the new Trinity models.
He's going to check with White Wolf what I'm allowed to post at this stage. I don't want to get him in any trouble by overstepping the mark, but whatever I'm allowed to post, believe me, I'll show you all!
Edit: (*) Note: There are pics in existence, it's not vapourware, I just don't currently have permission to post them yet. The pics I have are early prototypes basid on current models so they are going to change anyhow.
