Just like GM Retrofire said:
It would help us a lot if you could send reproduction steps in a bug report named "Transgaming - Mac: --Description of problem--"
Please include your Mac System Information in the bug report as well as screenshots if needed
Apple provides a very thorough tool for collecting system information. The steps to use it are as follows: - Select "About This Mac" from the Apple Menu (The picture of the Apple on the System Menubar) - Click the "More Info..." button on the "About This Mac" dialog that appears. - Select "Save" from the System Profiler File menu - Save to a file on your Desktop in "System Profiler 4.0 XML" format. - By default this creates a file named <machinename>.spx
This will help us at CCP and Transgaming a lot with locating the cause of this so we can have it fixed.

Edited by: Federal Clone on 11/12/2007 12:03:42 I've had all of the issues posted by everyone who has written in on these issues, but I've got another as well...
Once I initialize the game, it takes about 5 minutes (literally) for the screen to darken and the game to load. Then it takes a LONG time for the game to bring up the news and for me to be able to click anything (i.e. settings, news, etc). Once everything is finally loaded, I CANNOT type in the user name and password fields! The cursor blinks in the fields, but no input from my macbook pro keyboard or the external keyboard will register. I have not been able to log into the game since the latest addition (trinity).
Anyone else had the issue of not being able to type in the username & password fields? Also, when I change anything in the settings window (for instance the resolution) it takes a very long time for it to go into affect. It just sits there with a black screen and the mouse arrow, then reverts back to the original settings.
Here is the spces of my mackbook pro...

FClone, I experience the exact problem when trying to log in. I did get past the UN, PW section once but after 30 min of game play it froze. But that was enough to start love EVE...I am waiting for the bug fixes.

Maybe this isn't necessary, but since the last patch a few months ago to the mac client, I think I've had all about one crash, and that was just after the patch time. I've had no bumps or bruises since then, and I've put in some major hours in terms of uninterrupted playtime.
Just wanted to say that the Mac client, at least for some of us, IS working. For me, it's gone without a hitch since the last patch.
MacBook Pro, Intel Core Duo. Running Leopard, 10.5.1.
I haven't had any problems after upgrading to Leopard either. The worst was trying to start the game just after I upgraded, where the client simply didn't start. Bounced in the dockłnothing. Not even a black screen. But a quick download and re-install fixed that.
BTW: although I may opt to Boot Camp just to get the Trinity graphics, I may try to use EVE on Windows with desktop Parallels (which is a wonderful piece of software, for those who do cross-platform workłmuch easier than rebooting into Windows). My machine might not be able to handle running EVE on Parallels, but I'll report if there are any client-related issues.

I'm having the exact same problem.
- Loading the game takes about 3-4 minutes. When i get to login screen I cannot type anything in to the input boxes.
A shame since I really wanted to try EVE (again) after a year or so. I don't have a PC anymore and love my Mac.
This problem occurs on:
- Mac OS X 10.5.1 - 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo - 2 GB 667 MHz DDR2

I just upgraded to Leopard (10.5.1).
I'm now unable to even launch EVE. I click the icon on my dock and directly in my HD and there is no effect. The icon briefly responds but the program doesn't launch.
I was playing yesterday on Tiger (10.4.11).
Hardware Overview:

Are you still having this problem.
I know sometimes eve will not start up for a min or two after trying to launch the application. Its like something is stopping it from loading instantly.
If you are still having this problem have you tried completely cleaning your system of CCP files and doing a fresh/clean install?

Has anyone discovered what's up with the blackscreen issue? I downloaded the latest patch, and restarted to find a black screen with a mouse pointer.

I also have a macbook, running the latest version of Leopard(10.5.2) with 4G ram and when I load the game, all I see is a black screen.
If I move my mouse around I get a cursor, and notice that there seems to be a large box in the middle of the screen.
Nothing I do seems to work, fullscreen and windowed mode are both blank. I can hear the audio soundtrack playing, so I know the game hasn't completely ceased to function.
I've even tried deleting the entire ~/Library/Preferences/EVE Folder, and re-downloading the client all over again.
Nothing is working :(
CCP, come to our rescue :)
