So with all the news and harsh words about the patch(s) flying around, I have one cruicial question about the drone changes. What exactly is drone bandwidth and how is it different from drone space?

bandwidth is how many you can have in space and dronebay is how many you can have in your bay

WTF drone bandwidth and the new drone infested space have nothing to do with each other!

Developer CCP Nozh commented on this on antoher thread....
Originally by: CCP Nozh The Ishtars bandwidth is 125m^3. Thus it can control 5x heavy drones, with that bandwidth it could launch 25x light drones or 12x medium drones, however it's still being limited by max 5 drones in space.
My understanding of this is that bandwidth controls how many of each drone type you could theoretically control via each type of ship... but you are still limited by how many drones you can have in space at any one time.... i.e 5.
Which is what CCP Nozh said.

Bandwidth is the equivalent of PG or CPU on a ship. Your drone's cargo is like the fitting slots. One or the other will be the limiting factor on how many drones you can "fit" and "use" (max of using 5).

Drone bandwidth does NOTHING on nearly ALL ships. On most it is exactly the same as the size of the drone bay.
The ONLY reason ccp wanted to put drone bandwidth in is so THEY COULD NERF CERTAIN GALLENTE SHIPS "A enemy fleet emerges from the shadows"
- What shadows!?! We're in ****ing space for gods sake

But, but... but... CCP said, said it was to un-nerf droneboats and give them more versatility.

It has. By nerfing non-drone boats even more!

When CCP wants to nerf something, they don't say "We're nerfing X". They go looking for the opposite of X, that being Y, then they say "We're giving Y a boost", when in fact they are nerfing X and making Y better in comparison. This tactic keeps a portion of the playerbase from going "rabble rabble rabble" on the changes, as it seems more reasonable that way. Doesn't seem to work very good on the EVE forum community though.
