Back in FF2005 Oveur revealed new capital ships. One of them was carrier and he showed us cool video of fighter flying around in space. He explained to us that it was not a drone but a "manned vessel" that was looking like "a real space ship with trusts coming out of everywhere to control its momentum".
So nowadays we have those "fighters" and then we have drones. Whats the difference here? Well, nothing actually.
Why not make fighters being FIGHTERS that are really manned and under "better AI control"?
I suggest we make fighters semi-intelligent in a way that once it hits armor or hull, it will try to FLEE from battle. Only DRONES should stay there and take bounding but "manned" vessel should have ability to see "Oh frack, I'm going to die! RUN FOR TEH HILLS!"-moment and escape.
Why not make fighters more intelligent and kinda like "boost" carriers FIGHTING abilities, yes?
Or are fighters just overglorified version of drones? 
It's great being Amarr isn't it.

Meh. They work fine, as far as I can tell. I notice that the pilots (yes, you can see the pilots if you zoom in really close) are wearing these killer bulky armoured space suits. Maybe they have an eject mechanism that allows them to survive a fighter breaking up around them, so they get a bit reckless.
Yeah, they're really just glrofied drones with a few extra abilities. We know. All that stuff about them being flown by actual people is just flavour - it shouldn't have any bearing on actual game mechanics. - The game is not the problem. The problem is that you are not adapting to the game.

CCP please allow us to fit fighters with diffrent modules!
BTW: fighters are dumber than drones - sometimes they don't come back to drone bay. Drones do!

I recognise that link the original was better, but the mods nerfed it because it doesn’t relate to my ingame persona apparently... heh!
Yeah your right, Fighters are just big drones, aside from their stupendous slowness and high cost, there really isn’t anything special about them, we can assign them, and they can warp... but that’s not particularly "special".
They definitely need some love, but the AI was improved slightly a while back (the inspiration for my sig) and Trinity seems to have fixed drones up nicely in that department, if I could have one thing improved about there AI, it would be making them run away from anything that webs them, webbed fighter = dead fighter, and its usually impossible for the carrier pilot to know its webbed aside from the fact its dieing.
I think much better use for any time the Devs could spend on fighters would be to look at rebalancing there stats, in Trinity we won’t be able to scoop and relaunch either drones of fighters to recharge their shields, and I don’t think there is a single carrier pilot out there who wouldn’t say that Fighters are weak and vulnerable for their cost.
I suggest that they should have either there hitpoints or resistances looked at and boosted, probably at least doubled, or give them some kind of tanking ability, even if its just self-repair of both shield at a higher rate than current, and a slower armor repair ability.
I could suggest doubleing all carriers and motherships drone bays... but i think theres more chance of hell freezeing over.

Yeah, making fighters more intelligent in AI terms (run away, avoid webbers etc.) would make difference because if I pay 20mil for a DRONE that cannot hit anything else than BS .. why bother really? 
It's great being Amarr isn't it.

tried to recall a swarm of T2 warriors recently? they are speedy little devils... who can't catch up to my curse at 200m/s

And my second idea: let us hire a pets! You could give your pet a BS and it follow you into the battle! If you give him a hauler He will help you to haul your ore from belt to station/pos.
And if you don't feed your pets they will die.
Skills required: Pet Control (Rank 8 skill, requires leadership lvl 5).
erm.. allthough it would be kewl to have like an npc char to bully around i don't think this would work for eve. Anyways at the moment u called it a 'pet' i thought 'omg WoW fanboy' and lost all respect for ur post. CCP, let us pay the online shop with Direct Debit!!! Well now you can set drone/fighter orbit distance, so that's avoiding webbers in a way. ---------------------------------

Give fighters modules slots and create fighter only mods, like weak webbers perhaps. Making them more flexible.
Fighter Mods: Webber Turrets (long range vs short) Propulsion upgrades EW modules?
Of course it will take about a week before we have cookie cutter fighter setups, but it could be interesting.

hehe yer i would like to see you just about to kill a target and all drones warps of and you cant get the damn things to attack again because of the ai :P loled
