So Iv notice some huge roids in belts and always wondered if they give more ore before they are depleted than smaller sizes?

Not necesarily. Asteroid size is, i believe calculated on the ore left in it, but is only recalculated during downtime. So if it is mined to near depletion before the next downtime you will see a huge roid with almost nothing in it.
If you want to know how much ore you can get from an asteroid, you'll need a survey scanner. |

With that said tho, I have always found that if you follow the general rule the bigger the roid the more ore there is to mine you cant go to far wrong.

My girlfriend always tells me it's how you mine it that matters.
But on a more serious note, larger asteroids do seem to last longer for me, but it could totally be my imagination.

well there was a time when in boredom I used a survey scanner and an apoc (before barges existed) and mined every rock in a belt to within 1 cycle of depletion..... amusing watching the macro crew show up and pop all the 'roid ballons' as soon as a beam hit them

Larger asteroids do last longer, especially the Veldspar, cus no bugger wants it :D I have a really nice signature. It doesnt exceed the 24000 byte limit, or the height restrictions - Laice |

The asteroid size means nothing. It can be a good general indication of how much ore is in it, but what really matters is the number of units of ore in the asteroid. Bring a survery scanner with to be able to tell.
