erm. not exactly how it works m8. u got back to a station u should have stayed there it seems. paying a ransom gets u out of your current situation. jumping in a new ship and entering the big bad world again makes u a viable target once more.
paying a ransom doesnt grant u invulnerability it gains u the right to warp of to where u see fit. ( once !! ) lol
lesson learned now go play the game and stop smacking people for nothing on here

Yep, thats the way most people do it, including me. when you pay a ransom you are paying to be let go that one time, you are not buying a day pass or anything

Basically every time they catch you you have to pay them to let you go. You're paying for them to deactivate their warp scramblers, not for some kind of immunity privilege from their gang the entire day. So if you got caught the second time, you pay second time or else.

You get fifteen minutes to leave the system, you were over that timer.
http://virus.griefwatch.net/?p=pilot&pilot=Joran%20Orduvium
And you were not in a vexor. You were in a velator.
Altough the voices in my head aren't real, they have some pretty good ideas.

It's a code that's drilled into all members of VIRUS, that we always and i mean ALWAYS honour ransoms. Period!
BUT...
Just because you've paid a ransom to us and we let you go, that doesn't give you a free pass in the system forever. Once the aggro timer has gone your fair game again.

These guys honor their ransoms. They are a real bunch of sleezy, flood thirsty, cut throat Pirates. Many of they have been Pirates for a long time and hold a good code of Pirate Ethics.

ummm they did nothing wrong.
A ransom is a one time thing unless otherwise stated. You paid for your release once. That doesnt mean you get free movement rights for the rest of the day.
You paid they let you go. Honored the ransom they did. Anything past that is your fault TBH. Your signature exceeds the maximum allowed filesize of 24000 bytes -Sahwoolo Etoophie ([email protected]) |

Pirates aren't camping gates in low sec for honorable fights, they're doing it for profit.
That said, I'm not sure how much profit they make hanging out in overcamped places like Nalvula. I'd be interested to hear how well they make out, actually. Lots of ransoms perhaps? The one time they got my little wimpy mission running caracal in there, there wasn't a ransom, obviously, as that ship is worth almost nothing. Counting insurance, it would have taken them much longer to work off the sec hit than it did for me to recoup the losses.
Don't confuse a one time ransom with some sort of 'immunity pass'. Though, maybe they do offere 'immunity pases' if you're interested and jumping through nalvula a lot. (I would recommend against it, myself).

I just want to apologize for the smack talking in local. It did happen and those members have been removed from the corp for it and other behaviour issues as well. It is not something we do as a corp or tolerate as a corp.

weelll sometimes they do luck out. I bought a vulture, and loaded it with close to 24ish t2 med rails n blasters. aswell as other fittings, and had a pithi med booster... all which survived my wreck.
no smack just pop'd me. I was ****ed.. they formed between me flying down and flying back after pickn stuff up.
i had the ship for a whole 10 minutes. if that.
but that's my bad for not being prepaired.

Dont wanna ninja the thread but to agree with what the MM character above said, we do get lucky. It would have to be the equivalent of a gambler on his/her "fix". We dont know which ship is carring the "goods" but we keep throwin our coins in the slot (so to speak) and wait patiently for the B1G W1N.

Bah, these guys are very honorable. Do not come here and whine about things that did not happen, it won't win you any friends. The upper ups take care of their members that do right by the corp if not, they don't stay very long.
From me to you, pay your ransoms and get out of town.

If you take a look at our killboard or website in the public section, you'll probably see recent events such as the dread virus hijacked and drove home or probably the recent 500mil ransom of a freighter. We also often find Tech2 loot, BPs, etc. in the wrecks.
If your careful, you can make big bucks as a pirate. I'm personally making more now, and having an easier time of it than running missions. But then i wasn't much into grinding... i rather just take it from people who do! mwhahahaha.
Currently we have 2400 kills and 83 losses as a corp, and everyone posts their losses. This equates to big bucks!

Honoring ransoms means you'll see more in the future. Being a nub that can't find their way out of a paper bag, probabally means you'll be the one paying ransoms in the future.
If you just get out of a gate camp, and then go back into it... well, I'd pod you on principle, and it's not something I generally do.
I appreciate V.I.R.U.S.'s work at cleaning up the gene pool.
Harsh lesson, but hopefully you learned from it. With enough posts backing up V.I.R.U.S. I'd feel safe paying them a ransom, if I'm ever stuck in that situation.

My experience with Virus has been nothing short of respectable, even though they smoked my domi the other day.
(Their killboard is definitely missing at least one loss, but probably everyones is, including ours.... I could point out losses that weren't posted on almost every major killboard, and I consider it simply a minor oversight/human error.)

Im sure it was. After all, he has posted infinite numbers of nighthawk losses :P why would one cerb be a big deal?
Drago is a trusted member of VIRUS and he often is the one making sure the newer members are falling in line with our corp rules.
As for honoring ransoms....You are paying US to let YOU go. Not let you roam free just because you have paid a set sum. We often blow-up hauler, cruisers and other ships and then ransom the pod. Some ships are hard to manage at a gates while reds are lurking in the system. Ransoms are engaged in 100% of the time when mission runners are probed down.
We are not perfect but we are at least making a serious effort to keep our word respectable and uphold our code of conduct within our corp. With that being said, we are not the borg and everyones has their presonality traits....If a member is found to be dishonorable, he/she will be confronted and booted if the problem persists.
