with the recent discovery of gas clouds in the news and my love for mining I've tried to find a cloud in one of the recently mention constellations with no luck. I've heard rumor that they come up as a ladar sig but have no proof of that. I'm useing normal scan probes (both comb and quest) with no luck. Does anyone have any advice on how to improve my chances of finding a cloud. And when I do, what do I have to expect when mining it?

It will be a good idea to save your effords until the Trinity upgrade/patch has been released.

I can confirm that some Ladar sites can be harvestable gas clouds. I was scanning a few down yesterday and thought I was at a broken deadspace site when I noticed a wispy white cloud floating in space. I changed my overview setting to display Harvestable Gas Clouds and it then showed up on my overview. I did not however have the skill to harvest it unfourtanetly.
I can not confirm whether they show up as anything else just that with the right setting you can show them on the overview once you find it.

Gas Clouds (LADAR sites) can only be found in 0.0 COSMOS constellations atm. They will be available in some places in low sec soon, but not yet. And if You continue scanning with just a comb and quest probe you will never find one. Read the scan guide mate. Get yourself to 0.0, into a cosmos constellation, use a multispec probe, if you find a LADAR signal with the multi, use quest --> comb --> sift to narrow it down. Thats the way it works. Randomly placing a quest at some planets in a system wont lead to a successful find.
