Here's an "EVEnt" idea for CCP. Not finished, polished, or otherwise done, give ideas and opinions.
The EVEversal Best Pilot competition.
Simple point to point:
- Anyone can enter.
- Points are the winning factor.
- Popints are rewarded for various tasks.
- Tasks cover ALL of EVE.
- Competition time, around week-two weeks in total.
Now, the points could be to some complicated formula(up to the people who arrange the exact amount), or simply "this good, this many points".
Events, from which points are given, are as follows:
Missions - Event based missions that need to be completed. Time/effectiveness is a factor in points. Effectiveness being, how many rats destroyed etc.
Mining - Gathering various minerals, again, time/amount is a factor.
PVP - Killboard style point system perhaps?
Industry - Producing things. That give points. You know. Stuff.
Market - Making ISK in 24 hours with simple market transactions.
Hauling - Moving stuff for profit.
Exploration - Finding stuff. Event generic stuff?
And other things that people come up with aswell...
Now, all things would give points and you could enter any segment of the above list at any time by "Start missions", or some other form as such. When you start it, you have to finish it, and then it's done and points awarded.
So as an example, "start market evaluation", you have 24 hours to make iskies via the market. When you're done, ISKies are measured, points given, and that's done of the competition. Move to next. When you've done all tasks, you get a total score.
Ofcourse to avoid "sploits" and such, some things should be made spesifically for this event. One idea is a "competition wallet" of sorts. So in the market competition, all are given equal amount of iskies to do their shopping. As well as hauling, and other such things.
Skills would come into play, as some may PVP better, but lose to a heavy duty miner.
And the reward of it all?
Well, my idea was a polaris shuttle, so you could go anywhere, anytime and basically be REALLY tough nut to *****, and yet not be able to "gank" people
