I keep getting this runtime error crash, I've crashed like 15 times in the last half hour, and it's been going on for days now.
Any way to fix these crashes or is it just Eve that's broken?

Edited by: Missy Saints on 16/11/2007 17:19:46 Clear cache and machonet folders or do a fresh install. I do a fresh install after every patch, run 5 accts on 2 machines and get 1-2 crashes per year at the most.

I have similar problems with eve in the last few days. No sure if it is an issue with eve or my side.
My eve is crashing a few different ways.
1) I get the error Faulting application exefile.exe, version 3.21.0.35601, faulting module python25.dll, version 2.5.1150.1013, fault address 0x0005b429.
The above is the error taken from my event viewer.
2) I crash with a Visual C++ Runtime error in exefile.exe
3) I just lose connection to the server.
All of the above happen within a few minutes of launching the client. In the past month eve has been losing connection once every hour or two which i could handle but now i can only keep a connection open long enough to change a skill.
I had no problems with my eve client before i moved apartment. After moving a noticed the disconnects( no that big a deal) but now the game is unplayable.
I am going to try my PC at a new location this weekend (a couple of hours drive away) so if it works there without issues i know it will be a problem on my side. I will report back.
Also to the people above. Please report the exact error message you are getting. Its very difficult to fix a problem if all you have to go on is "my client keeps crashing"

I have the same problem with two notebooks.
Erros Msg: "Fehlgeschlagene Anwendung exefile.exe, Version 3.21.0.35601, fehlgeschlagenes Modul python25.dll, Version 2.5.1150.1013, Fehleradresse 0x0005b429."
Never got this error bevor the last patch. Perhaps some one can check/fix this? This error cost much of my drones!

6 computers in this house (4 desktop/2notebook. XP & Vista)- can't get past the character screen currently.
Crashes occur instantly-to-after several hours.
Several related threads in the known-issues/workarounds board as well. This is not our computers/routers/connections. This came with the last patch best I can tell.
I'm getting: -runtime -.exe -lost connection -server status: unknown -queued log-in
drivers are current, no bugs, my connection/isp is just fine, no other internet/MMO issues.
...it was squeeky clean pre-patch and, now, playing for 30 mins or completing missions is challenging more often than not.

im replying to post i made above.
i have tested my client on a different net connection, both using my wireless NIC and my cable NIC.
I have not yet experienced a crash.
From this i would assume that its a problem with my net in my other house but seen as others are posting identical problems i assume the latest patch has caused some incompatibility with our routers.
I dont see how this could happen so maybe someone with a bit more experience in these issues would shed some light on this.
I would also like to see someone from CCP reply to this thread. Id like to know if they are receiving complains like this outside of this thread.

This is a known problem that the developers are working on a fix for, hopefully they'll have it released as soon as possible.
As you see they know about that, several of my friends have also that problem and made petitions as me, now just waiting for any patch or something...

Hi I have the same problem.
I log in and then in random intervals I just lose connection to the server. I started playing EvE again after a few months and this error never happened when I played before so I assume it has to do with the new patch, since everything else is exactly the same at my place and with my computer.
This morning its been very bad, losing connection every minute or so. I just bought a 3 month subscription and now I cant even play properly. I will put in a petition with tech support, see what they say...they must be aware of this problem by now.
I also get the Runtime error, but only every 4 - 6 disconnects not every time. Most of the time I just lose connection.
I tried Eve on my computer at work and I do not get any disconnects there. Not sure what the problem is but I hope there is a solution soon.

Well I did a pingplotter test and there is no package loss to the eve server (once in a blue moon I got 5% package loss, but mainly no loss at all) and I am in Dublin and there are only 8 hops between me and the EVE server. I am not sure what the problem could be. I took my computer to work and ran EVE there and it seemed to work fine even though I didnt have it on for very long, so I dont know if there would have been a disconnect a bit later, as they are pretty irregular.
Another thing that I noticed, is that when I start the launcher it takes about 10 - 15 seconds for the server status to update. At work it was almost instantly. Not sure what to make of that information thoug, maybe anyone had an idea about that? Is that a sign that it is my ISP. The thing is I havent changed my ISP and about two or three months ago, before I stopped playing for a bit, I could play with not problems at all. Only now that started again has this problem started occurring.
I put in a petition 2 days ago and I have not gotten any responses from CCP. I mean, they dont reply to this post trying to help, they dont answer to my petition..what kind of Customer Service is this?
Anyways, I hope someone from the community might be able to help. :-)

This is getting rediculous. I just reactivated my account after a 8 month hiatus... and I cant play for more then 10 minutes without getting "Connection Lost." Sometimes its a C++ Runtime Error \bin\Exefile.exe... sometimes its just a crash with the launcher asking me to login again.
If this does not improve then my subscription will be cancelled again.

I am having this same problem, conincidently enough it was after i upgarded from ATI to a NVIDA point of view 7600GT. First time i start running eve with duel clients i had this problem. First it only affected my main account every 5/10mins or so, now it is affecting my second accoutn aswell. I also noticed that everyone here who stated there graphics card was using a nvidia... driver problems perhaps?

This started happening to me after I started playing around on the test server. Funny thing is, I can log onto the test server but not the real one. I see the splash screen and then it never reaches the login screen. I've tried several things: reinstalled it to the latest full client build, installed the latest ati drivers, checked directx to see if it is functioning right, ran a chkdsk (in case it was a bad sector), and defragged. I don't know what else to do...

My problems aren't as severe as some people here, but every few days I get a runtime error (pasted below). Eve disconnects and then shows me this C++ runtime error. I've tried a clean install to no avail. I can still play the game, just every once in awhile a go plop. I do have the test server installed, on another hard drive so I don't think that's causing any problems...
Here is what it shows me:
AppName: exefile.exe AppVer: 3.21.0.35601 ModName: python25.dll ModVer: 2.5.1150.1013 Offset: 0005b429

But the next damn day that same problem came back
"Your EVE client installation may have been modified, damaged or corrupt files. Please re-install the game client. Its not your hardware, its not your installation, its not your ISP, its not you running multiple clients, or running on xp or vista.
Its the patch implemented to support linux and os. All these runtime problems started with that patch.
