Anyone know a good thorax setup for fighting? I can use drones yes so thats not a prob iaf thats good :)

I'm currently using:
Hi-slots
1x Regulated Neutron Phase Cannon I + 4x Modal Ion Cannon I's
Med-slots
1 20km warp-jammer, 1 mwd, 1 webifier
Lo-slots
3 PDU's, 1 Cap Relay, 1 Magnetic Vortex I.
Combine this with 7 heavy drones (mix of praetor and wasp).
This setup will kill any cruiser in 15 seconds if you get within 7km.

I know that people always say use am ammo for blaster but after recent changes, that is the ammo controls the percantage of cap the gun uses, is there a ground to reconsider ammo in blasters?

Not really - if your cap runs out due to the type of ammo you use before you kill a same-class ship with blasters, you need to train more engineering skills.

josh, i think if you dont land on top of them that setup will get you killed, you really need some shield or armour mods if you want to stay alive long enough to reach your optimal range whit that setup, mwd reduces your shield by 25%, so whit that setup i would armour tank it the best i could. that will also spare the midslots for web/scrambler,
slapping on a cap booster on a blaster thorax could also be nice.

You forgot one important thing ... ur thorax wouldn't stand a chance against an EW ship... mainly because you will lose the locking system... so no weapon will be fired... beside... if u get warp and webalised ... then good bye Thorax also in couple seconds... and not even heavy drones will save you... coz they usually need your lock to attack once u get attacked....
That is a nice setup for PVP against other standard cruiser but not against EW ships.

That is a nice setup for PVP against other standard cruiser but not against EW ships.
There is ofcourse no optimum setup that prepares for everything. This seems to be an all out offensive setup whith the sole purpose off destroying the other ship before it destroys you. Maybe a bit suicidal setup but I definitly would use something similar

5 PDU's mean I have an awful lot of shields/cap even with an MWD.
Thorax is very agile and I could easily get out of warp-jamming range pretty quick while I let the drones have a nibble.

Verrrry mean set-up for a fleet or medium group battle with people focusing on the big bad scorps and such, zip in with this gear and at xtreme close range orbiting a bs you can deal out massive damage while they have a really hard time hitting you with oversized guns. Throw in some of those drones, and most BS's geared for med-long range engagements will be swearing htey'l quit the game in no time.

did u mean npc or pvp?
npc depends greatly on which rats. Pvp depends greatly on your playing style and what other ships you may or may not work with.

I've now got 5 PDU's in lo-slot and swapped the guns around. It's now 3 Anode Neutron Blasters and 2 Modal Ion Cannons.
No damage mod but it stills does more damage.
