there are ppl that actually use eve voice? o.O
if it were free then yes, but even if you subscribe for it you would need all other ppl you pvp/play with to get it as well. and imo thats so unlikely.
everyone i know uses TS.
and the 3rd-party/unofficial mac client TeamSpeex actually works better than the official windows client -> list of ppl online doesnt jump up and down when ppl join/quit when you scrolled down to a specific channel. and no stupid "member left/ member joined" bs you have to manually disable. ll and it's also usable with ventrillo servers when the vent server is set up to support the speex codec.

I've heard (not sure since I haven't used it) that you can set the PC version to display who's speaking over the game. Can you do that with the mac version? -------------------------------------------------- <3 my Drones |

EVE-Voice was not officially supported in 2.3. It does work for a lot of people, but there are issues for some. We are addressing this and working on officially supporting it as soon as possible.
And yes. EVE-Voice is free.

well its "free" to people who pay for their account...
its not "free" for people who have a "free" trial account, cuz they have to pay for a full account before they can use this "free" feature.
so saying its free is misleading, saying its no additional charge is much more accurate.

Strange, here: http://www.eve-online.com/voice/
it says it's $9.95 a year. Is that free? What am I missing? I wouldn't mind using it in game to talk with my brother but we can do TS as well since we have a server. Wouldn't mind not having to use that.

Sign up for the free trial, the 30 days never runs out. I guess they just haven't gotten around to updating the eve voice page..?

So, will EVE Voice replace TS? What about Vent, that seems to be the one-and-only over on the WoW servers... does anyone use Vent in EVE?

Hi. If you are having problems getting Eve voice to work, please send us a bug report with information about your hardware and configuration. Please check out this page: https://bugs.eve-online.com/help.asp?
As I said, we are not officially supporting EVE-Voice in the 2.3 Release, but we are working on getting it to work for everyone in the future. So any information you can provide us with is helpful.
