I've managed to finally get everything working, including other games under Cedega (6.03) except EVE. I had it working once, a-bit it was running horribly slow (less than 2 fps).
Anyway, long story short, I had to reinstall my video drivers along the way and now it only makes it to the login screen, and once I enter my password and press connect, it downloads all of the "bulk data," "authenticates," etc... and then closes.
On the plus side, both the linux version and the win32 client now at least startup, before I reapplied the video drivers, only the win32 version would login, the linux client black-screened after the splash.

Just an update
I've managed to get the wrapped client to get to the character selection screen, but then crashes once it says "Entering Space / Checking Navigation Systems..."
Running either of the exe's, from the cedega folder or from my windows partition still results in a crash after attempting to login. The game also periodically crashes when I close the settings/escape dialog, but the changes made persist on the next attempt to run the client.
System specs: AMD Athon 64bit Processor (3200+) 2048 MB RAM ATI Radeon X1600 Pro (512 MB RAM) Ubuntu 7.10 (Gutsy) Cedega 6.03

For the record I fixed the issue. Granted I'm getting rather low fps now (22-28), but I can do more than just sit in a station...
So far it looks like I just had to disable both NV_VAR and ARB_VBO in the Graphics tab on the Cedega EVE configuration.

Keep on the lookout for new updates for the ATI OpenGL driver is about all I can recommend.

Edited by: Valentine Ventura on 18/11/2007 20:01:10 Hi!
I've got the same problem... how did you fix it???
Silly me, I've just read the last line... but I'll look for ways to improve the config results.
