I had a sweet mission in a 1.0 system and after the 3rd gate I had 3 giant Omber roids to mine - each with over 60k in them. I mined one out in my Osprey and it took me forever so I decided to not turn the mission in and finish off the other two the next day when I got my Mining Barge. But I went back and the roids were all gone yet I had not turned in the mission. What happened ? If you kill all the rats in the mission does it despawn over downtime ?

The mission area despawns the next downtime once it's been flagged as complete (as noted in the mission log). Typically this happens after destroying a key rat or structure. If the mission hasn't been completed, it instead is reset and respawns with everything intact.
In your case, i am assuming you had the storyline missions 'A case of kidnapping'. If you wanted to re use the mission, you should have stayed out of the final room with the EoM Succubus in it. Destruction of that one triggers the Mission complete.
EDIT, clarified that despawning happens during downtime. |

Ahh ok. Thanks for the info. I thought if you didn't turn it in it would not despawn. Now I know better. Thanks again.

Ok so let me get this right.
I have mission with a couple of jump rooms and each has some roids in it.
The mission timer is at least a day so I could for example:
Kill everything in the first room. Come back and mine into a can for an hour with my osprey, use my hauler to haul it bac, rinse and repeat..
One roids are done, continue with the mission in my fighter... rinse and repeat
another question, how do you get a popper stopper? I have seen this on other mining runs?
I don't know what I am doing.... but my guns do.. |

What do you mean by popper stopper? If you mean the roids stop respawning, read above. You fulfilled the conditions for the mission to be flagged as complete. |
