Ergo Peters	Posted - 2007.11.12 15:38:00 - [1] seems to me that most people would rather moan about there ships and fittings rather then think about their settups, all you people who have been playing for ages and still moan annoy me, i got 4 mill skill points and i have an abaddon that works very well even without a tech II tank. sure they have a few problems like all races, there is one best race at solo pvp at the moment no points for guessing who but pvp is meant to be gang and amarr do this ok so no probs there, think you guys just need to stop whinning

And are therefore more qualified to compare them to each other, and see when there are problems?

Quote: The Abaddon, Geddon, Sacrilege, and maybe one or two other ships aren't bad because of two reasons. First, for the Armageddon, it was overpowered to begin with and never really brought all the way down in comparison to the other Amarr ships at the time. Second, the Abaddon and Sacrilege are recent ships. They were designed to be on par with the other races. Ships like the Apocalypse need a total rethinking. The sheer lack of pilots means it would be an improvement to do anything to it really. Making it a droneboat, a Khanid boat, etc. would be an improvement. Even removing it from the game and replacing it with another split system ship like the Typhoon or older Khanid ships might be better. To summarize, the Prophecy, Apocalypse, etc. suck because they aren't/weren't A) overpowered enough to survive the nerfs and still be decent or B) not specifically designed to be on par with the other ships.
Sonorra Baki Interstellar eXodus R0ADKILL	Posted - 2007.11.12 16:12:00 - [9] I juts baught a toon and it has like recon 5, and i fly a curse, and its like pretty good at many things, so i like see these posts on the forums and ppl whine about armar so im like wtf, the curse is a pretty good ship, so stfu with amarr complanes cause curse is fine and i allready PK'ed an osprey in a PK zone lol, but it was tuff lol, but pls stfu about armar cause it dont use cristals on the turrents like the diemos or the caracel, or maybe the scorpian. but ok, for real PKing ima get like a macarel with total nano item set its like speedhaxing eve lol. But seriusly, armar is fine!!!

There isn't actually a race that's happy with themselves. Minmatar whine (we're not good at anything, we're mediocre at everything, all we have is speed), Amarr whine (we do no DPS, we've got no cap, all we do is tank), Caldari whine (we're not good in PvP, missiles take too long to get to their target, we're only good at PvE) and Gallente whine (our ships completely suck without drones, all we got is drones). Assault ship pilots whine , Recon pilots whine , carrier pilots whine, people like me whine about people who whine, which makes me one of the people who whine (self-insight ftw)...everyone whines. On the other hand, a gang with a representative of each of these races is pretty damn tough to beat. Funny how that works. Basically the origin whiners (the people who whine about eve itself - people like me who whine about whiners are derived whiners. Its mathematical.) want a way to be self-sufficient in combat. Understandable, but un-realistic. The older players moan more because they've been playing a certain way, and are now forced to adapt. The younger players didn't have to adapt and so don't have to go through the shell-shocked "but, but, but that's not how I've been playing..." temper tantrum stage. No doubt the newer players will be throwing temper tantrums next year when something they've relied on gets changed. Such is the cycle of Eve, hakuna matata. And if you feel this whole post was nothing but pointless inaccurate drivel, you could be right.

The real amarr ships: Battleships (except apoc) and recently added (and therefor appropriately balanced) like harb are balanced. but we got a lot of crappy ships that need tweaking. A non ganking gank hac like zealot A non ganking gank cruiser like omen Tank ships without any dps at all like prophecy and maller, its like sitting in a moving fortres with thick walls but without any castle defense to kill people with. Whats the use? Crappy recons after nos nerf.

Flaming the people who comment your flame post ftl. Gallente really aren't going to be very overpowered posttrin imho. I heard that all the races needed tactics, but I could be wrong.

That works against megas, but against tempest and typhoons you try and get them stuck on a gate or a roid.

NEWSFLASH: CCP remove Amarr and lasers from the game. All pilots with any AMARR skillpoints will be deleted on 1st of December(They might as well since CCP nerfed them into extinction

Perfect balance is incredibly difficult to attain, as stated, and all of the races have ships that are junk. However, I must confess that just because it is impossible to achieve perfect harmony is no reason not to try. Amarr is the least flown race; nothing big in and of itself. But when coupled with the large jumps between the usefulness of some of their ships, it draws out the whine in people. The (dare I degrade the topic by mentioning it) flavor of the month ships overshadow all the other ships, further pushing certain "mediocre" ships toward the "lol" category. Don't take me wrong, I fly Amarr, and I'm not going to change to another race if they don't do anything to buff my ships. But I do think there is a problem, and that problem limits the amount of ships I am willing to fly (personal problem, I know).
