Edited by: Rob Adams on 12/11/2007 22:02:18 What effect exactly does the security rating of the system the agent is in have on mission rewards.
1.) I read sparse rumors that for every .1 drop in security, you get about another +10 quality . However the agent info doesnt reflect that. Does anyone know this for sure or is it an urban legend?
2.) Does the above have an affect on the total bounty a mission pays out?
3.) Does effective quality affect the total bounty a mission pays out?
4.) The high security corporations. I havent factioned them up because I was assuming that quality 20 agents in .8+ space would give less total bounty for the missions. But I dont know for sure.
I trained up amarr navy faction assuming that fighting EM ships would be alot easier to tank as an armor tanker. I got to level 4 agents and settled down in Gyerzen. a .4 solar system with a quality 15 agent. its surrounded by high sec and is only 16 jumps from jita. assumed i would just stay here forever. today tho i got probed down and pirated. So now im really interested in what the difference is between high sec agents and low sec agents. If someone can tell me a high sec corporations quality 20 agent is paying me at least 20 million in bounties for vengeance and extravaganza, just like a low sec federation navy is, then ill just stay in high sec.
Thanks in advance. Any insight will help

Lower security rating gives higher rewards, bonus and LP. I don't know how much better. Security ratings don't effect bountys at all so if you get 20M in a mission in 0.4 you should get the same in 1.0 .

It does NOT actually increase agent quality, it's "as if it was a higher quality". LP/ISK payouts at mission completion are higher the lower in secstatus you go. It only affects stuff you get when you tell your agent "I've completed the mission".
If by "20 mil bounty" you mean the NPCs in the mission, yes, they are always the same. Best results in highsec are from a L4 agent in a 0.5 system, preferably surrounded by higsec. The actual quality of the agent doesn't matter all that much, most ISK comes from in-mission bounties and subsequent loot/salvage.

Edited by: Moghydin on 13/11/2007 13:34:31 I think you can get higher agent rewards both in ISK and LP; rats also drop better loot. Rat quality is exactly the same in any system. I don't know how much better agent rewards and the loot are as I've never tried low sec missioning and I'm not going to. I do missions to earn ISK, not to lose it.

Thanks guys so much for the responses.
Basically i make my money from the nice 20 million dollar bounty missions and was afraid I was gonna have to take a pay cut by doing high sec. mission payout and lp i dont really care about. so looks like its high sec for me. thanks a bunch

ok so i did a masive attack. .8 security. like -14 quality. and only got 4 million in bounties.
i remember that mission in low sec with 0 quality agent paying alot more than that. does anyone else have any numbers to confirm.
does sec status and quality maybe determine the amount of pirates in a mission. therefore affecting bounty payout?-

I havent been playing EVE for very long but my experience with lvl 1 missions is that the higher the quality of agent the better the LP and isk payout regardless of system sec the agent is in.

Nah, massive attack around 4 mil sounds a bit low, but about right... not many battleships there. Wait for missions like Worlds Collide, Angel/Guristas Extravaganza, Pirate Invasion or even Gone Berserk before you cry foul

Ignoring the 500 other posts on this very same subject...
The higher quality your agent, the better the mission reward, bonus and LP payment will be. As your standing with that agent/corp/faction increases, so will your 'effective quality' (show info an agent to see your effective quality with them). There's also some Social skills you can train to gain more:
Connections: Increase your standing with friendly agents (which in turn increases your effective quality). xxx Connections: Increase your LP payment from various divisions. Negotiation: Higher mission rewards. Social: Faster standing gains for missions that you complete (so faster increase in effective quality).
After all that, you then also have the security status of the system that your agent is in. The lower the status, the higher your mission reward, mission bonus and LP payment will be per mission. So, stick with 0.5 agents where you can (as noted earlier, preferrably not near low-sec since you'll sometimes get sent to low-sec if it's nearby). I don't know the exact increase that you get per 0.1 of security status, but it's nothing to sneeze at. Note that this increase is not reflected in your agents effective quality - only in the actual payment you receive.
Lastly, super busy systems like Motsu/Saila are worth steering clear of. Any benefit you get from the 18-20 quality rating is easily gobbled up by lag delays and unecessary stress associated with it.
