i wonder if he's only trying to keep the SP up (even if he uses that character at all)... he has lots of useless skills (all shield skills maxed and no caldari or minmatar ships, capital skills without capitals, astrogeology without barges, industrial reconfiguration without rorqual...) O_o
Do not try and find the signature... that's impossible. Instead only try to realize the truth... There is no signature. |

To the best of my knowledge, Dr. Caymus is the main char that player uses. And yes he has stated in tha past that he has trained those 'useless' skill because he can train them faster than for instance gunnery skills. So yeah, you may think he has a weird goal in the game( have as many sp as possible), but there are more people with weird goals. I've got about 0 support skills and I can fly every ship in the game or Tripoli's attempts to train every skill in the game.

I thought there was about 10 characters with more than 80m SP, of those, i always thought i was in the 9th or 10th official position, well, since the text says "just shy of 91m SP" and Dr. Caymus got 91m SP 2 weeks ago, i guess that these numbers are 2 or 3 weeks old (even if the dev blog just came out) which means that i must now be in the 3rd or 4th official position
I wonder who are those 2 other chars with more than 80m SP (Drahcir as now reached 80m SP, but i think he was just a little under that when the numbers were taken) -----

Yes, that would be me. Nice bit of information in the latest QEN
I consider myself to be a "co-main" character, originally created with heavy int/mem attributes in order to come up to speed as a manufacturer quickly. I continue to manufacture extensively today, running 11 production jobs continuously, 24x7, 365.25 days per year. I also conduct blueprint research and keep 6 research agents continuously active.
My interest in accumulating skill points emerged early on, as I was completing the training of all of the science and industry skills then available in the game. Having another character trained in other aspets of game play, I decided to pursue the training of other int/mem skills in order to leverage my heavily skewed attributes. This led me into skills in electronics, engineering and mechanic. Of course, my training always returned to science and industry as more skills became available. This training pattern continues today.
Competition in the skills arena began to emerge about the time I reached 10 million skill points. Players had begun to share information on their skill point totals, total number of skills and level 5 skills in the forum. This led to "Top 20" lists and, ultimately, Sara Dawn's superbly developed and executed "Skills Showroom".
The QEN info still leaves us with many unknowns. Who are the other 80 million point players? And how about the 70 million point players - only 1/3 of them are registered in the Showroom...

What I missed in the good doctors report is the turnover rate of characters. How many "high skilled in raw sp number" characters thats taken completely out of the game (Players quitting and not selling their character), so the younger players are taking their place..
Any Devs able to answer this question..? Are the younger players closing in on the elders in number because they quit/taking long breaks without training time etc?

Would take a while to catch up,unless they also are pretty old players themselves(3+ years old at least).

I'm also surprised to see that there aren't very many players with skill points over 70 mill. As in my case, peeps taking breaks away from the game, not training anything while away, and then coming back actually skews the totals.
In my case, Since I started playing in late 2003, I have about 6 - 9 months of time that I didn't train anything.
I kick myself everytime I think about it. -------------------------------------------------- Mission Runners United

At what point did everyone find they have more SP then they need? In other words ran out of really useful skills to train? 50, 60, 80mill? Passive shield tanking guide click here |

I refuse to train foreign technology and specialize on amarr only (with the exception of Caldari drone specilization). Currently I have 75m skillpoints or so.
With this in mind I think the limit to have maxed out for one particular race's most 'useful' skills is 60m skillpoints if you are not interested in capital ships. In this useful skills there are already lots of skills which don't have a high priority, which I consider as worthless most of the time. For example I have tons of EW skills although I dislike EW and almost never use them. I have leadership skills although I almost always fly solo and so on.
30m skillpoints are enough to be maxed out in your favoured battleship or HAC. Only with capital ships or jack of all trades kind training you need more than 30m to be state of the art in your chosen profession. Players from 2005-2006 can be a very serious threat even to 2003 players (I know what my Khanid char from 2006 can do).
With the next patch a few new skills will come for me such as marauder and black ops. I am not at all interested to train for the electronic t2 frigate or the for the heavy interdictor but I guess I will just do that instead of training for Caldari ships or some weird science skills.
At least my missile skills became useful with Khanid mkII. If a t2 Khanid battleship comes I will have torpedo spec 5. That's one of the next skills I have planned to train (to use t2 torps on my Apocalypse).
I want skill level 6. I would prefer training amarr battleship level 6 for 5 months instead of tons of other skills I will never use.
