Hi!
I'm made this alt some time ago to start pvping and whatnot, now i'm done with some basic skills and whatnot. Learning, electronics...stuff like that
Now, however, i'm at a crossroad with perhaps PLENTY of signs wich way to go. But sill wanna run it trough here for other people's toughts on the subject
I'm gonna be a battleship pilot for fleet engangement and also a bs pilot for smaller gangs and gate camps, so BS is what i'm gonna fly and that's set in stone
The dillemma is -wich- BS to specilize in...seeing the new vids of trinity 2, megathron has all the eye candy and jaw dropping material to make me happy But looking furher then just the surface, would a mega be what a pvper want's?
I also know that caldari get's a buff as far as pvp goes, but my main is a carebear so he can fly one just fine so that's not an option.
amarr use lasers, lasers use em, em harding is perhaps the highest in pvp as far as i understand, but would amarr be a viable option?
Minmatar, these guys i know NOTHING about...i know they fly ships made from rusty componants such as old toasters from before the galactic war:P but...i like the storyline behind Mnmatars. Are minmatar good for battleship specialazion? what would my role be?
Thank you, anyone who takes time to help me in this dilemma...

IMO, with the nerf to tracking computers, the Rokh will be the premier sniping (fleet) battleship.

Why that? Most of the forum*****s tried to convince me that tracking doesnt matter when sniping...So why wouldnt minmatar, gallente or amarr snipers swap to the 'extra optimal' script?
Only modules that didnt get nerfed were the lowslot modules, thus favouring lowslot heavy ships. _________________________________________________ Breetime

It doesnt matter if you have 2x tracking comps to help, but if you dont then your dps will be lower(not necessarily hitting 0s)but lower.

I dont know weither you are serious either. Its very simple.
Medslot = active, active got nerfed. Passive = low, they didnt get nerfed.
Now what module will be performing for 100% after the nerf? Looking forward to your reply, why the rokh owns sniping, cause im training for the 1400mm tempest (i just love that ship ). _________________________________________________ Breetime

Funny, because I'm training up a 1400mm Arty Tempest too.. Afterall, they're nerfing my dictor out of existence, so I might as well get on the fleet battleship bandwagon.
My Caldari alt is missile spec'ed, so its rather out of the question for him to train up the Rokh.
But no, I think the Rokh will be an excellent sniper post-nerf.

Your about to sink 8 months into training a BS and you want to take other peoples advise?
Just train the one you think sounds cool and looks cool. God knows what will have changed balance wise by the time you sit in it with enough sp to make it work.

for gatecamps i would recomend minmatar or amarr simply cause they have better range on their guns and that they are really nice in fleets also helps.

If you are ambitious enough I would say gallente because the T2 battleships are coming out and it the t2 mega that is following the assault ship line looks very promising.
Tracking bonus will be a great way to increase reliability of turret damage.
Ample raw bonus damage.
High armor resistance to free up low and mid slots for damage amplifiers and EW.
Amarr has similar benefits but less turret bonus because it gets the energy reduction bonus for its lasers.
Many people say the T2 BS's arent worth getting, but if you are dedicating your character to BS's anyway, then T2 BS is probably a good way to go.

Well it if you like a races backstory then your halfway there...
Minmatar have a host of different roled bses, but basically. typhoon-armor tanking raven that has a large dronebay, can nano(ish it was nerfed)or have a mad tank and neutralise. tempest-armor tanking ac boat or fleet type alpha strike boat. maelstrom-the ship that gives up tackling ability for tank n gank, but you need to shield tank with this one.

Hurm, t2 bs in pvp? no thaank you, seeing as they will prolly cost more isk then i can spare...gallente, mhe...i do not like there backround story that much (i'm not a hardcore rp'er, i rp only for my own amusement)..seeing as it can only go upwards for amarr, pew pew sound much better then blhawt blhawt. On the other hand, any ship below bs for amarr is next to useless wich is more then sad, if i ever wanna spread my flavor for once i'm done with all bs skills in a year or so.
Gallente has all these drone boats that will also be useless come bandwidh. So, conclusion is, that i willmostlikely go amarr
Not only are there ships cool looking (even if trinity 2 mega can be hard to beat) and there backround story, oh, and. I get minmatar slaves to do all my labot TYVM.
See you on the battlefield in approx 90 days when i got t2 weapons, t2 armor, and support skills!'
Thank you everyone for you'r tought on the matter, even if i was a bit biased towards amarr from the get go.
