Although the Stealthbomber has a 'role bonus' for the use to cloaking device, the Sig Resolution still gets nerfed.. Is this right? I dont think so. CCP fix me!

A passive targeter will solve most of the problems realized by a larger sig res. Most of the time the target will not realize what's going on, until the first salvo hits. |

A passive targeter doesn't help a Stealth Bomber in any way whatsoever.
1. To target at all, with or without a passive targeter, you havce to uncloak. Now they they know you're there and will strat targeting you.
2. With or without a passive targeter the target never knows that they are being targeted until they are actually locked. It is never, ever, possible in Eve to know that someone is in the process of locking you until they've actually locked you. That's when they light up yellow in the overview.
3. As soon as you've locked a target your missiles fire and start traveling towards it. At that point you light up red in their overview whether you're using a passive targter or not.

if sensor boosters get nerfed like on sisi, the sig resolution penalty needs to be removed or stealth bombers become a steaming pile of sh**. These ships have 0 defence they need to be fast. uncloak -> sensor booster -> lock target -> sensordamps -> launch missiles -> get the fu** out of here

They usefulness of Stealth Bombers is already questionable, even an indirect nerf could push them over that line. Never even thought about this until I read this thread... although I imagine ships with a 70+ range will now also have a weaker scan res due to the SB nerv... hmm...

All you 'whine' lemmings and trolls obviously never flew this ship. Like I said, the Scan Resolution penalty is out of place for a ship that is 'designed' for this role. I think they should actually boost the scan resolution to compensate for the penalty. That would not 'overpower' the ship. Actually , I dont think you 'should' have to fit a sensor booster just to get a reasonable lock time. It should have the resolution = to a interceptor 'before' fitting the cloak.

Actually, there is! If you have auto target back set then I think you will lock back whomever is locking you. (Or am I wrong here?) Not that many people use this in pvp, but it is possible. ________________________________ All your honey are belong to us! |

Yes, that is untrue. You do not show yellow or red while using a passive targeter. In addition a bomber will be unable to cloak once they are targeted. Most people are set with auto target. Meaning that barge you locked will stop you from recloaking. A passive targeter defeats this. |

You believe wrongly. The first indication you get (yellow rectangle in overview around the ship that has locked you) means you're locked.

You won't show yellow when locking with a passive targeter, but you will show red as soon as you fire which will be as soon have them locked.
Quote: In addition a bomber will be unable to cloak once they are targeted. Most people are set with auto target. Meaning that barge you locked will stop you from recloaking. A passive targeter defeats this.
1. People with any sense (granted, there aren't all that many in the game) will NOT have auto target on (it's a very dangerous thing to have on in many situations).
2. People with any sense will be locking you as soon as you uncloak regardless.
3. It doesn't matter if a Stealth Bomber get's locked, because if he has any sense whatsoever he will have at least 2 sensor dampeners equipped, he will be way outside of scrambling range, and he will be aligned for warp and at speed (just in case) before he even uncloaks.

I fly the Purifier constantly.
I have not had an issue with my locking time vs any ships what so ever thus far (this is including frigates although I have not tried engaging Interceptors 1v1 just yet).
My setup does not include a passive targetter or a sensor booster. I am using the prototype cloak (worst hit to sig res). How long does it take you to lock a frigate in your stealth bomber may I ask? Because your whole issue is that it "take too long to lock things" am I right? ---

A passive targeter helps in the chance that if they do have auto-target back on, they dont get a big spinny picture of your ship in the top of their screen. People ratting or mining usually dont pay TOO much attention to their overview, and you definitely have enough time to uncloak and fire a couple volleys before most people realize whats going on.
Oh, and so that you can cloak again, fit remote sensor dampeners, the wont be able to lock you back.

In my personal experience (I fly the Nemesis) if you're not using the improved cloak and 2 sensor boosters, it takes way too long.
