Would be even better if the missiles left an exhaust trail like the ships do. Might take up alot of resourses in large fights, but the people who don't have the computer horsepower to render all that can turn the current ship trails option off to get rid of the missile trails too.

Are you serious? Are you on medication?
The fire sound and visual effects need MAJOR overhaul, they are utter **** at the time. Also when i use my hybrid turrets, i just scroll away from the ship so i don't have to hear the annoying shooting effects. Thats how serious it is for some of us.

I think it would be cool to have an 'impact against shields' graphic. I.e. you don't see the shield normally, but when it is impacted you see the shield flicker in a bubble around the ship. I would like that :)

You mean like when a booster is on? That would look pretty cool. Missile contrails would look nice, but i think it would take up a lot of processing power unnecessarily.
The orb of death looks like rubbish, give us missile pilots some eye candy allready!

Thanks captain science, but like I said to the other guy, I prefer shiny to realism. If my haloesque plasma bolts make combat look cooler than it does now, then I'm all for them. I'm just getting Tired of a continuous beam that goes from my ship to one point on theirs that varies in intensity because all of my guns are firing similar beams at the same spot. If I'm attacking something big like a battleship, I want each weapon to hit a different spot... and with different animations it'll be more fun to watch.
I KNOW it's scientifically inaccurate, but Eve is about a galaxy full of faster-than-light travel so I'm not too worried about that

I think he meant pulse lasers ala star wars where you get short 'pulses' of laser as apposed to a continuous 'beam'

IMo all explosions needs to be scaled down to make our battleships feel bigger, ie 50km explosion is too much, something like 200m fireball exploding on side of the ship would be much more eyecandy.

Beam lasers should act like a cutting beam and travel along a ships hull. 
Also Yes on projectiles firing in huge ship shaking explosions and impacting with simular force. --

yea.... when the torp explodes and has a 20km radius and only hits the thing in the very center 
also from the trinity teaser video it looked like moms were getting a nice size boost. aka a mega flying infront of it looks tiny as it should.

Also, artillery fire should "explode" or hit basically on the armor/shield, autocannons should fire continuous strings of fire.
Shouldn't demand much, just a simple gif plane going along the firing "line" so to speak, would be sufficient.
Stuff, flying, hitting, more, nice 
Especially since we don't watch our ships up close, the weaponfire would be a nice indicator of SOMETHING going on.

Yes true, but nobody suggested that these effect should be there forced, a little on/off swith in the options would do the trick, anyway most peaple are turning off efects in fleet battles with alt+t .

Yeah, pretty disappointing. Especially considering when the largest projectile weapon ever constructed in real life was merely 800mm. But it had enough punch to penetrate 80 meters of reinforced concrete. -- Support fixing the EVE UI | Suggest Jita fixes

The best weapon animations I have ever seen were in the Homeworld series (particularly Homeworld 2). I would love to see EVE with that kind of animation, right now I can pretty much turn off the turret animations and not notice much difference. Its ashame
