Golden Helmet Caldari Finite Horizon Synchr0nicity	Posted - 2007.11.15 09:01:00 - [3] I think one of the devs stated that it's only free until it's working properly. Once it works as good as it should, you'll have to pay for it. I might be wrong though, it was a while ago and my memory sucks.

I imagine request at a pirate to shut up and write his ransom ^^ Ok I troll. The real problem is the obligation to be connected to use Eve Voice. In some cases like a fleet battle, this helps to know if I can relog on or if the fleet did a warpout, etc...

Those kind of things only serves to isolate Deaf and others even further. Whats wrong with typing? Ive chatted up a storm with so many players and they all type just fine! If CCP is going to have this free, they should also include Voice to text and text to voice then to make it a all around fair free thing for all players of all aspects of the EVE-online.

Huitzilopochtli Tlaloc Forum Moderator	Posted - 2007.11.15 13:24:00 - [25] i dont quite get why so many people seem to dislike eve voice, one major complaint was that it wasnt free, which is it is now, and when it does become free people seem to complain about it being useless in fleet battles and you need a seperate client. If eve voice was a seperate client then it could not be intergrated and people would use vent / TS anyways. Not everyone in eve has access to a TS server, and this i think is a great bonus to eve, dont write it off untill you have tried it with the new fleet interhrattion (which looks like the sex) Advantages over a stand along clinet 1) its free (TS/vent is never free somone is paying for it, even if its not you) 2) its fully secure (unlike all the stories of TS / Vent getting "hacked") though of course thats as long as you can trust eveyone who you invite to your voice channel 3) you can talk to anyone in eve, you dont have to get somone of TS if you want to do negotioations. 4) if you merging 2 fleets / large gangs or more from different allainces you have to usually decide which TS your on then get one group to move over and then grant them all the correct rights / drag them, with eve voice its all intergrated 5) no additional program to run 6) very high quality, and as far as i rember runs on a different server, so though you wont be able to use it when your out of game, even if your frozen ingame it should work relatively lag free 7) fully intergrated into fleet warfare in the next patch, which will be better than any leadership / command structure you can get with ts 8) nice quality and thats just some of them off the top of my head and so far the only disadvantage is that you can use it whilst crashed, which i dont think outweighs all the advantages. it might not be perfect for fleets if your expecting lots of crashes, but generaly for anything else its much better, including just things like chatting whilst mining, or mission running with a new person who may not know TS details, or for those corps who dont want to / cant afford to run a TS. Not the ransoming per se, but the ability to talk to anyone in EvE over voice without having to get permission to bring a guest on your TS server (though I am yet to be told 'no'). I've started using it after I got back from the FF, and its been a pleasure to so easily talk to out-of-alliance business partners, people I know in RL who play EvE, or conversing in arabic with fellow egyptians and arabs in the game. Now when I did activate it, it said that it was a 30 day trial. If the next expansion is more than 30 days away, will I get auto-charged for it or will it just stop working?
