Low-sec = Reaver space?
Sounded interesting, and avoiding pvpers in low-sec as I attempt to do other things besides pvp there certainly keeps a level of vigilence up while I'm there, but Reavers as portrayed in Serenity? Hmm... So I bring this topic here for other opinions.
And see if someone wants to bring Jewel Staite and Summer Glau into a low-sec discussion, I suppose. |

Honestly, that's only because there isn't an option to though I mean, I know that if it was an option, many/most pirates would fly around like that, lol. |

Serenity is listed as being around 60 meters or so long... that's the size of an EVE Frigate. I'm thinking that the Minmitar Probe would be a good "stand-in."

At least on Firefly/Serenity she does. Without the long hair though...not so much.

Well on the series -V- her attributes were, ahem, hidden . But she is definitely a knock out.

Just looked at the "V" short haired pics and no very no. Strength isnt measured in numbers but in force of will. For if one motived willful individual stands many will fall around him that are weak.

Bloodraiders aren't cannibals like the reavers are supposed to be are they? Draining blood is one thing, eating the flesh is another. I'd rather deal with them instead of the Sansha. |

Pedant- in-Chief here, but can we please spell the word properly?
Its 'reivers', not reavers...the latter is the name from the Firelfy series I grant you, but the original is the proper name for the border bandits of 14th-15th century England/Scotland including one area called 'the debatable land'.
As my mother is from that area and has one of the bandit surnames (Forster), its an area of interest to me

I would think the border bandits got their name from the verb. Or did the verb derive from the bandits' activities? Which came first? |

Has it ever been stated that the Reavers are based on the Reivers? If not, then isn't it rather presumptuous of you to correct anyone's spelling? They could just as easily arrived at the name without the historical context, making your correction...incorrect. |

They drain you and use your blood to do lots of stuff, from infusions to painting there ships
Reavers aren't just cannibles ether, eating your flesh is just one of the meany exciting things reavers do one they catch you.
And they both use blood painted ships, webs/mag graplers, and close range debilitating tactics so they can board you. I am in Factional Warfare. I'd second the Probe as a stand in for Serenity. Down to the two drones (shuttles?) and large cargo bay. While Serenity is a purely transport ship, it's too small to fit with any of the Eve industrials.
Eve's security levels fit pretty well with the Firefly world as already mentioned. Except that while Reaver (or however you spell it) space is essentially one or two planets no one goes to, null sec in Eve is huge and widely populated.
Sancha as Reavers? Weird f**kers from outside even the 'wild west' of low/null sec that raid into empire space? I'm unaware of any Eve canon that really approximates cannibals and such.
Firefly was a good series that just didn't last long. |

Very interesting little fact, though. I consider my RPG lore just a little more complete now, so thank you.
I'd like to use the Firefly word, however, as it conveys, for me, the dread and loathing of seeing a trio of -5700 security status folks show up in the local of a 0.1 that I was messing around with. |
