How do you feel about that? With all due respect, if you want to be fixing things, you should be with the USACE at best, any other fixit group at worst. Marines are about kicking ass. That is the important thing, first and foremost. DO YOU KICK ASS, SOLDIER? Foo. Fixing? That's for navy boys. Break it like you're a navy officer. Drive it like ya stole it. That's how to be a Marine. ----- TANSTAAFL

You ever heard of Every Marine a Rifleman?
I can still put 10 rounds into your chest from 500 yards with a beat up M16A2 service rifle, and I can still lead a combat patrol. I'm a Corporal of Marines, certifiably able to **** your life up. Don't call me a soldier. I'm a Marine.
The fact that I'm intelligent enough to understand the inner workings of such things as gas turbine engines and complex hydraulic assemblies, has zero impact on my effectiveness on the battlefield.
It's people like you that give the USMC a negative image in insisting every Marine is a simple minded killing machine. We are the leading force in our nation's military for a reason, and not because of sheer numbers. The USMC has less than 300,000 active duty at the moment. We are highly trained, highly specialized personnel doing multiple jobs that most services have 3-4 people assigned to do.
Think before you go spewing that bull**** at me, man.
No disrespect intended.

Edited by: Takahashi Clutch on 03/12/2007 19:06:14 I'm a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. I served on active duty from 03/1999 to 06/2003. Now, I work at Virginia Tech doing network monitoring and some low level network engineering. Looking to move though, after my girlfriend graduates vet school and gets her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine.
I played eve about a year and a half ago, then I quit and I just got back to playing again because of this new expansion. __________

I'm an IT helpdesk contractor, I'm living proof its not what you know it's who you know. (granted I know alot about computers, I'm just self trained an not certified) ... Why do I PvP? Because I love the feeling I get when I see the pretty lights and know that someone somewhere is screaming incoherently at their computer screen. |
