What Be This Here Thread? I was reading over the White Paper for the Council of Stellar Management, and I thought it might be helpful to conduct a (hopefully) reasonable discussion of issues that players want considered by the Council of Stellar Management. So I did.
What Should I Post and How Should I Post It? The structure I'd like for this thread, though obviously I can't force anyone to do this, is to create a simple post with important issue you would like to be discussed by the CSM. How should you post these, you ask? Like this

Tarminic: Miner and Mission Runner Corporate Management Needs to be Made Easier The corporation management interface it too obtuse, this negatively effects the ability of players to run corporations effectively and adds unnecessarily to frustration. I would like this issue to be addressed so the corporate interface can be made more user-friendly and less buggy.
The idea is that you can post a fairly specific issue (more detailed than "fix corporations" but not as detailed as "fix the position and menu alignment of the recruitment panel relative to bla bla bla..." The idea is to make short concise posts that will be easy to read and remember by CSM candidates/members.
I'm not really creating this thread with the intention of discussing what people post here, just to create a list of issue that matter to players. I'd prefer if this thread didn't turn into a debate on how to fix Amarr, or how Amarr don't need fixing, etc. Obviously trolling should be ignored, though once again I cannot force people to post in any certain way.
Obviously, anything said here should be taken with a grain of salt as the forums may not represent the overall desire of the players, but I thought it may be helpful regardless.
Post away. ---------------- Tarminic - 29 Million SP in pink Forum Warfare |

- I'd REALLY like any form of animation (even when set to none there still is some) taken out when you switch to/from the map. It creates unneccesary lag with no reason whatsoever to have the animation in the first place.
- on a similar note; I'd like to have a specific button for that new system map, first of all it won't interfere with the normal map anymore (F10) and if you have to have a quick glance you're not having to navigate using " F10 and click on system button" anymore, especially annoying with the afforemented map transition lag.
- please, please, PLEASE add the system map to the scannerwindow again.

Find ways and means to help new players acclimate to Eve. Such as documentation (Eve-Wiki), recruitment (planned already I think), general game play issues, more official volunteer helpers, etc.
Do discovery on why some players leave the game at the sixth-seventh month and find solutions to those issues. Find out if it is boredom, lack of opportunity, fear of long skills, died too much, ran out of ISK cause sec status got too low, etc.
Address the basic lack of security mechanisms for all things corp/alliance related û Urge CCP to create a more granular security schema so that 0.0 groups do not have to be as exclusive. This may help the above item and spread the work load away from some players that have discovered they have a second job.
Urge CCP to have more participation in the Features and Ideas forums, with the clause that what they say there is their view, and not necessarily the view of CCP and not an official stance, as a means to help players, that wish to contribute, gain a better understanding of what constitutes a good idea and how to better formulate ideas.
Find means by which the community can participate in creating game content, be it simple furniture, banners, art work that would hang on station walls, ship logos, clothing, asteroid textures, etc. Let the community weed out the crappy work and CCP can reap the rewards and hand it back to us in patches/expansions.
Urge CCP to add basic RP like tools, such as the ability to flag a channel as IC or OOC or chat commands to do the same, AFK flags for players that show up in a chat channel, an IC Bio and an OOC bio, etc. Players that do not wish to immerse them selves more will not be affected by such things, but such simple devices would be appreciated by the RP community.
And lastly, of course, get rid of star gates :)
In the end though, the CSM should pay attention to what the community wants, and not necessarily their own wants - representative government and all that.

This can be a bit of a point of contention in representational government. Do the representatives back what their supporters want, of what they believe is the best for their supporters? They aren't always the same.

RMT spammers & nerfing trial accounts. Or give us a 'block trial account mailings' choice.
Mech Eng imbalance in invention. Crappy ammo invention (heck, not that it matters, T2 ammo sucks so no one invents it. Even invented barrage cannot break even).
Devs being held responsible for 'stealth' changes to ships. Updating the patch notes page to show 'in testing' accurately and up-to-date before anything goes onto Sisi.
More people to investigate RMT sweatshops and shut them down with extreme prejudice. A blotter page showing the names of people who have been identified as EULA violators & what happened as a result (banning, wallet drain, et al).

Hi, my name is Ampoliros, and I'm a quasi-retired PvPer. Heh.
Anyways, what I'd like to see dealt with:
* Missions I'd like mission running to be spread about a bit more than current. At the moment, it feels like most people run missions in Caldari space, in highsec, in a few overcrowded systems. I'd like to see ways of expanding this to 0.0, encouraging low-sec mission running, and finding ways to spread around highsec mission running without just moving agents around.
*Carebears/Newbs I'd like to see ways to encourage them to pick up guns and shoot people. I'm thinking the eventual(tm) introduction of Factional Warfare might help people ease into this, but I think PvP of the cause-explosion types should be encouraged :)
*Intelligence/Local The 'nerf/remove local' debate's been around for a very, very, very long time. At current, local is the basic bread-and-butter intel tool, because there aren't really enough alternatives. This sucks, as its not designed for it and thus not very well suited for it. I'd like to see other ways of gathering intel being explored, so that local can be phased out in favor of just being an actual chat window.
*PvP (oh gods): -Fleet tactics should be less on focus fire and more on strategy. -Ctrl-q needs to not be a viable tactic/escape tool. Ever. -Cloaks and speed setups could use extra counters or penalties. -Caldari/Amarr ships could probably use some PvP love. -Logistics shouldn't be carrier-only. -Supercapitals shouldn't be a liability. -Small fleets and maybe even solo ships should be able to help out in battles for sovereignty warfare (IOW, you shouldn't need a blob to do everything). -Encourage mixed ship gangs. -Fix lag. -MWDs shouldn't be required PvP fittings. -Tanking should be a viable tactic. -Missiles should be a viable weapon system. -Bounty hunting should exist as a viably fun thing to do.
Carebear stuff: -Invention and stuff could use love. -T2 BPOs should probably be phased out somehow. -Mining should be less boring overall, and more profitable in lowsec/0.0. -NPC mineral faucets should be plugged. -Mineral compression?
Think thats it :) ------------------------------------ My statements are not those of my corp or of my alliance, nor anyone else.

I'd like to see them "discuss" the issues behind the reason the whole "player council" thing was formed in the first place: Internal auditting procedures to assure the playerbase that there's no more possibility for internal cheating, favoristism, or corruption, or if that's impossible, what methods are in place to force the issues to light (without requiring controversial external whistleblowers), and prevent damage to the community, the economy, and the non-playing public's perceptions of the game.
Beyond this, all other concerns are secondary. It's been a year since the **** hit the fan, and I know we've all forgotten and moved on (except for this whole war thing, of course...), but it was that one incident, involving those that shall not be named (on either side), that provoked this whole thing, and it's important we not forget that in favor of gabbing about game design (which should NEVER be the point of the council... we're players, not game designers...).

Stitcher - Fleet Commander and recon pilot
Smoother reloading It is not presently possible to swap the ammo type that is loaded into all of your ship's guns simultaneously. The system as it stands at the moment involves individually reloading each gun, which is time-consuming. I would like to see a simple option, accessed via the right-click menu, that allows the pilot to reload all modules to a certain ammo type at the same time.
Drone interface The current drone interface is rather clunky and counter-intuitive, relying as it does almost entirely on the right-click menu. It would be nice to be able to drag drone commands such as "Attack target" "return and orbit" and "return to drone bay" onto the ship's unused slot spaces so that these commands can be issued in much the same way as a gun is ordered to fire. Maybe with a blue border haze to indicate which command is presently active.
- The game is not the problem. The problem is that you are not adapting to the game.

Brigitte : Miner, manufacture, mission runner How can escorts be made to work correctly Put simply can we have a system that enables escorts to fight back to suicide attack runs in high sec, and normal attack runs. Something along the lines of diverting the weapons fire or automatic shield support etc. Escorts dont work at the moment full stop.

Competitive fun PvP
Let's be clear. Fleet warfare isn't everyones cup of tea. It's not even feasible for some due to time constraints, they are by nature long and tedious to form up and get going - some people have work, life, family which makes 6hr stretches at night not entirely possible - let along getting up at 3am to rescue the POS coming out of reinforced. There's also the Capital issue, again, not everyone wants multiple accounts to move their ship from A->B (let's remind ourselves here that in a recent suggested change to some capitals there was a large response from top tier alliances of 'I won't delegate 100mil of fighters to my corp mates, I don't trust them' - so let's not pretend that Capital pilots with single accounts ask for corp cyno's with their 1.5bil+ of hardware - no they use their own alt on a second or third account.
With recent statistics showing that 80% of the population of Eve are in High Sec Empire it's becoming a case of 'Is this really a PvP based game?' or will ambulation and the rest just push PvP back further into the realm of clunkdom?
Will the CSM panel put pressure on CCP to reassess the Privateer Alliance 'nerf' and not consider that for Alliances at least, they may well be expected to show they are an Alliance by defending themselves rather than seeking sanctuary in CONCORDs arms?
Surely a compromise could be reached when corps remain out of the Privateer Alliance jurisdiction thus protecting those new to the game and allowing those players to grow and thrive while getting to grips with the game. However, should a pilot or his corp sign up to an Alliance, then shouldn't they, as a sovereign entity, be required to defend themselves rather than rely on NPC factions to protect them? It is after all the pilots decision and would give considerable more meaning to being in an alliance than what currently exists, it would even battleharden starting alliances in preperation for the conquest of 0.0 space - instead of just rolling over and dying whenever a POS gets put into reinforced.
Thunk!
