Hi everyone, my question is is Capital Production really worth it in 0.0? Right now me and some friends are building a Frieghter and will have it done in 10 days in 0.0, when we figured it up we have 4-5 hulks mining 1 tank and 3 haulers. At max time we have 10 accounts going with 6 people. When we figured it up its 100M ISK to make the damn thing in about 10 days (selling at less than a billion it would be less per character). Now my question is wouldnt ratting in 10 days worth of mining be more than the 100 million we are getting to make these ships?
Im just looking for thoughts, opinions, and seeing if i missed something. We are planning to build Dreads soon (hopefully sell to GOONS if we can work out some station access for our CORP and other Anti-BoB alliances who are at war in the south). We just wanna know if there is a better way or more efficent way to produce these dreads than what it is now for the frieghter.
P.S. sorry BoB no loven for you!! ;)

You can't build freighters in 10 days. Unless you have a ton of the component BPO's it will take longer than that just to build the parts to build a freighter.
Ratting will give you more money than mining.
100 mil profit for 2-3 weeks worth of production on 700+ billion isk is not a good level of profit imo. Just sell the minerals if you mine, you'll make more.

We do not plan on selling the Frieghter due to we need it to move our ORE to the refinery. We bought a BPC set with all the BPC which is why we can make it in such a short time. With our builder's skills plus the BPC we can make the frieghter in 10 days time.
Are capital ships more of a commodity to have to buff your alliance like extra **** on your car or more expensive clothes to show you have stature?
Or should we just sell the minerals on the market and then it shows that the influx of how we sell the minerals at that price at different.
Right now we can sell low ends where we are at twice jita price but we can sell the high end minerals in Jita for twice the price here. Doesnt this show a sort of up and coming influx in the economy since someone is getting screwed or is the constant influx of ISK into the game and the Chinese trit miner's helping to keep the game stability to last?
Just seems weird to myself how you can build a Dread and not get more than ratting but buy the minerals in empire and make more than ratting. So i guess in the end the answer would be to sell the high ends in Jita and keep some high ends to make the ship in Empire then buy the Low ends in Jita for the Capital ship as well to knock the price down the most in the terms on the amount of ISK you spend to make it?

Edited by: Calgorac on 18/11/2007 22:54:16 you should be mining High end ore ONLY in 0.0
anything else is a waste of time/effort
with 10 characters mining say 8 hulks and 2 haulers you guys should be making 214m/10 = 21m isk per character per hour...
at that rate it wont take you more than 5 hours of mining to make enough money to outright buy a frieghter in empire
then you move it to 0.0 for your haulering needs
sbove asumes t2 fitted hulks with fleet commander having mining forman and director 5 and a mining implant

Edited by: Taikun on 19/11/2007 00:37:13 You are comparing active income to semi-passive income. You are trading off your time in game for money.
Capital production = a few hours a week buying a stack of mins and setting up production slots.
Mining = Sitting at your screen drolling with boredom for hours and hours a day.
Missioning = Grinding the same missions over and over and over for days at a time.
All with make you ISK. Some require more active involve ment than others.
If you have the ISK and nothing else to spend it on (i.e. 20 billion or so) cap production might be for you. Otherwise... there is still money to be made in a lot of T1 stuff if you absolutly have to get into production.

Heh.
OK then... do you want a real answer or do you want someone to just tell you to go ahead and build your ships? You seem to really want to proceed. I think you're just going to take it the wrong way if you're given the brutal truth. So please advise if people should be brutally honest or just pat you on your head and tell you "good luck"?

the BPC set was for a frieghter we are building in 0.0, not for the capital production.

Well, let's see here... With 3 characters (1 tank, 2 hulks) I fill a can every 5min or less in 0.0 full of high-end ores. I figured I get 100mil / hour. Ore goes straight to me. After doing this for about 4 hours a night, 5 nights a week, I have about 6,600,000m^3 of ore in a factory station. To get the Ore to a refinery, I use my freighters. Yes, plural. If you figure out a fully fitted Itteron V with t2 expanders and t1 optimization rigs, you're looking at a 200mil + ship that only fits 38,343m^3 or so. That would be 87 round trips with both industrial characters going at the same time. No. Ok, FRIK NO. You reduce that down to just 4 trips w/ the pair of freighters (and my skills).
Additionally, I ONLY mine high-end ores (Arknor, Crokite, Bistot). If you do ANYTHING else you're rightfully labeled as a noob. When I get 3,834,300 zydrine/megacyte I fly or jump on down to Empire with my same Itteron V (cloaked ofc) to sell minerals in highest paying region. If I need low-ends, I use hauler spawns. Why the heck not? They drop over 25mil trit at one time. Get them 3 times a week, I never complain about 0.0
You HAVE to take risks for anything to pay off.
Just ask me about the time I flew those same two freighters I have now from Y-2ANO to MP5-. Yes, I webbed and aggroed the freighters. No, I didn't have a scout. Yes, I've got the lowest hanging Ba11s in all of eve.
Make the capships in 0.0 The program you make will pay off in the long run. Unless ofc my alliance finds you or another large one does.
